Irish stars were out in force on Sunday evening as the annual BAFTA TV Awards took place at the London Royal Festival Hall.
The Crown, The Last of Us and Succession were among the big winners on the night, with stars across music and television taking to the red carpet for the event.
Amongst the Irish contingent were Maura Higgins, Sharon Horgan, Roisin Gallagher and Mairead Tyers, all of whom were nominated in their respective categories.
Maura stunned in a black figure-hugging dress which featured an accentuated peplum, and was off the shoulder with a sweetheart neckline.
The Longford star wore her hair in a sophisticated chignon bun and pouted for the camera.
Sharon Horgan also opted for an elegant black look, pairing her black off-the shoulder dress with statement pink heels.
Sharon was nominated for best actress for her role in BBC’s Best Interests. The star was up against names such as Helena Bonham Carter and Bella Ramsey.
Happy Valley’s Sarah Lancashire was the winner in the category.
Fellow Irish actresses Róisín Gallagher and Máiréad Tyers were pipped against each other for the award for Female Performance in a Comedy, with Gallagher’s nomination for her work on Sky’s The Lovers and Tyers receiving the nod for her Disney+ series Extraordinary.
Gbemisole Ikumelo picked up the award for her acting in Black Ops.
Éanna Hardwicke was also unsuccessful in his bid for BAFTA TV glory. The Cork native was up for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Ben Field in BBC’s The Sixth Commandment, with the gong going to Succession’s Matthew MacFayden.
