Robert Plant Is Back With A New Led Zeppelin Project: A Mashup For Molineux

Robert Plant’s new secret project is finally out: A Led Zeppelin mashup.

Plant teamed up with producer Gavin Monaghan to make a mashup of Zeppelin hits ‘Whole Lotta Love’ and ‘Kashmir.’ The two played the mashup at Wolverhampton Wolves soccer club’s home games as the teams walked onto the field at Molineux Stadium. This new mix debuted this Saturday, May 11, when Wolverhampton faced off against Crystal Palace at Molineux Stadium. Plant himself was said to be there too.

Wolves marketing executive Russell Jones thanked the Led Zeppelin rocker for his contributions in a statement. He said:

“Having Robert as a member of the old gold pack is incredibly special. [A]nd having now used ‘Kashmir’ for more than a year at Molineux, Robert was keen to help us move the sound on by mixing two of Led Zeppelin’s most iconic tracks.”

He also thanked Monaghan for his support:

“We’d like to thank both Robert and Gavin for their support and I hope that the new mix will get the stadium rocking ahead of the last game of the season.”

News Were All Over Social Media

A few weeks ago, singer and writer Antonella Gambotto-Burke told LedZepNews that Plant was working on a ‘reimagined version’ of a ‘classic Led Zeppelin song.’ But, she didn’t reveal details since it was a top secret. Instead, she shared about her time hanging out and collaborating with Plant.

The news was also shared in other people’s social media posts. Gambotto-Burke, the author of ‘Apple: Sex, Drugs, Motherhood and the Recovery of the Feminine’ shared more information about the project on Facebook. She wrote:

“In keeping with the rollercoaster that is 2024: hanging out for the day with Robert Plant in the studio. Robert specifically asked to work with Magic Garden Recording Studio, making the brilliant Gavin one of a handful of living producers who has had the honor of working on a Led Zeppelin track.”

Studio owner Monaghan also shared about the project on his social media.
