Kolathur youth dies of electric shock
Chennai: An 18-year-old youth died of electrocution at Kolathur on Sunday morning.
Police said Sanujan, 18, was living in a refugee camp in Chengalpet. One Rajan, a resident of Tirupathi Nagar, had hired a few people through an app for cleaning his house. Those who were contracted for the cleaning job — Sirendarraj, 26, Sanujan, 18, and Surya, 25, were all residents of the refugee camp.

While cleaning the bathroom, Sanujan touched a live wire that was protruding out of a junction box near a tap. He was thrown away due to the shock. Noticing Sanujan lying unconscious, Rajan rushed him to a nearby private hospital.
Sanujan was declared dead-on-arrival at the hospital. His body was sent for a post-mortem to Govt Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital. Police have registered a case of accidental death.
Police said Sanujan had recently completed his Class XII.
