“I’m definitely going to have the brakes on all year because I don’t want 60 to come too fast, haha, “ said Ron Sexsmith when interviewed by AUK’s Martin Johnson in early 2023. Now, after sixty orbits around the sun, Sexsmith is set to perform two very special retrospective ‘Sexsmith At Sixty’ concerts at Manchester RNCM Theatre on 8th November 2024, and The London Palladium on 10th November 2024.

Joined by his band, the concerts will showcase songs from his vast catalogue, featuring his most popular tunes, alongside deeper album cuts and fan favourites.  ‘Sexsmith At Sixty’ is promised to be “an emotionally charged concert, which will be personal and intimate with quite possibly a few surprises”.

Of the shows, Ron Sexsmith says: “With ‘Sexsmith At Sixty’ my plan was not to throw myself a big birthday party but to try and shine a humble light on my contribution to the pop songbook. I am very excited to be bringing this career retrospective show to Manchester, the renowned London Palladium, and to the UK audience who were the first to embrace my music.”

Sexsmith was born and bred near Niagara Falls.  He has released 17 albums to date the most recent of which, ‘The Vivian Line’ (2023), was reviewed by AUK concluding: “Ultimately when listening to ‘ The Vivian Line’ we absorb the loveliness and candour of Ron Sexsmith’s art rather than actively devouring it. We consume it by osmosis. Letting it seep into our consciousness and gently insinuate its way into lifting our mood and, for the duration of the record, making our world just a little more bearable”.

The three-time Juno award-winning songwriter has collaborated with the likes of Daniel Lanois, Mitchell Froom, Ane Brun, Tchad Blake, Martin Terefe and Bob Rock.  His songwriting appears on albums from K.D. Lang, Emmylou Harris and Feist.
