The years have not made ex-UFC star, Ronda Rousey, any kinder to her former partner, Brendan Schaub, as the fearsome fighter revealed how she got revenge on him in her book, 'Our Fight: A Memoir'.
The pair were in a relationship until around 2015 when she met her current husband, Travis Browne, but their time together didn't end with a fond farewell and Rousey remains bitter towards Schaub, who competed as a heavyweight, to this day.
In fact, her current man even knocked him out in 2014 and that's when Rousey vicariously got her revenge after cheering Browne on at UFC 181 before he delivered a savage message to his beaten opponent on her behalf.
"When Travis knocked him out at the end of the first round, I didn't think it could get any more gratifying," Rousey wrote in her book. "My ex covered up on the ground while Travis pounded away on him. The referee waved the match over.
"Then Travis, towering over the crumpled, semi-conscious body of my ex, leaned down and whispered something in his ear. His words were indiscernible to the camera, but I swore I could hear Travis's voice saying, 'Ronda says f*** you.'"
Has Schaub moved on from Rousey yet?
Shortly after their break-up, Schaub made a series of revelations and comments about the ex-bantamweight champion in the media before he insisted he was over her and tried to move on with his life, before he proposed to his girlfriend in 2019 and became a father.
But the drama was brought back to life when Browne posted a photo in 2016 of him beating up Schaub with the caption, "#tbt What a satisfying night when you shut someone up with your fists! #ufc #activ8media #hawaii #satisfied."
So how did Schaub respond? Did he get petty too or has he truly let bygones be bygones? Based on his reaction, it appears to be the latter.
"It's over. I have no hard feelings," Schaub told the media and Browne. "I like him. He's a nice guy, his girl.
"What's there to say? Is there hard feelings because I dated your girl years ago? Move on, man. I don't hold grudges."
