A good fantasy/adventure book, great and loveable characters.

I haven't been much of reader in the past, but I want to slowly get back into reading.

I do love a good fantasy story with well thought out characters. Bonus if there a tragedy like something goes sideways in the quest or a major death of some kinds happens that wasn't expected.

Priory of the Orange Tree fits all the requirements, I think?

The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi is wonderful, it absolutely feels like you're part of the adventure as you go. I also like the Deavabad Triology, also by Shannon Chakraborty, but Amina has my heart.

The Mistborn trilogy

Try The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir, starting with Gideon the Ninth.

Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames

I thought Fourth Wing was fantastic and Iron Flame even better. Can’t wait for Book 3!
