Texas-based Grupo Frontera announces San Antonio stop for new tour

General tickets go on sale on Friday, May 17.

Texas-based Grupo Frontera announced their highly-anticipated tour on Monday, May 13, including a stop in San Antonio this summer. The group from Edinburg will perform at the Frost Bank Center on August 17, according to a news release from the venue.

Produced by Live Nation, the Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada tour comes after the release of Grupo Frontera's newest album titled the same name as the tour. Grupo Frontera will kick off the tour on August 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This summer the group will also hit major cities across the country with stops in Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, and New York. 

On the tour, there are many Texas dates. In addition to the San Antonio stop, Grupo Frontera will be in El Paso on August 4, Dallas on August 9, Houston on August 10, Laredo on August 15, and Austin on August 16.

General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, May 17 at FrostBankCenter.com or on Ticketmaster.com. For exclusive presale access, sign up at Frost Bank Center's All Access Newsletter and select the "Latin" genre.

The six-member band gained exposure on TikTok, where their cover of Colombian band Morat's 2018 single "No Se Va" had been shared on the video app more than 1 million times. The band consists of the following members: Adelaido "Payo" Solís III, Juan Javier Cantú, Julian Peña Jr., Alberto "Beto" Acosta, Carlos Guerrero, and Carlos Zamora. Grupo Frontera released their first song to YouTube in early 2022.

The group now has 15 Billboard Latin Award nominations and had three songs on the Billboard Hot 100 during their first year together. The band became more popular after a massive collaborative hit with superstar Bad Bunny called "un x100to."

For the latest album, Grupo Frontera collaborated with Nicki Nicole, Maluma and Morat.
