Games to Watch

Darien at Greenwich, Thursday, 5 p.m.: Darien has fallen out of the top two in the Connecticut Coaches’ Poll. But, make no mistake, the No. 3-ranked Blue Wave is, as always, an FCIAC and state title contender. No. 5 Greenwich provides yet another formidable opponent.

Waterford at East Lyme, Thursday, 5:30 p.m.: Waterford is unbeaten in ECC play and has just one loss overall. East Lyme is sub–.500, but has played a difficult schedule. An interesting contrast.

New Canaan at Wilton, Thursday, 6 p.m.: Wilton’s victory over Darien, moved the Warriors to the No. 2 ranking in the Connecticut Coaches Poll, and made this game No. 1 vs. No. 2 battle. New Canaan is 9-0-1 since its only loss to the nation’s top team, St. Anthony’s (NY).

Masuk at Pomperaug, Thursday, 7 p.m.: Masuk added a huge win to an already great season when it beat defending state champ Weston, 13-7, on Tuesday. The Panthers can’t afford a letdown against a game Pomperaug squad which is in SWC contention.

Darien at Ridgefield, Monday, 4:30 p.m.: A great launching pad into the postseason for both FCIAC teams.
