If you’re coming to Peacock in June looking for big movies premiering for the first time or new original series, then you may be disappointed. It’s going to be a quiet month on that front for Peacock, perhaps because a good deal of June will be focusing on the U.S. Olympic trials ahead of the Olympic Games later this summer.

On the bright side, Peacock’s incoming lineup of movies is very solid, including the first three John Wick films, The Bourne Identity, Gladiator, and more. There are also some head-scratching arrivals including several Christmas films that are about five months premature. Of those flicks, Anna and the Apocalypse‘s delightful blend of zombies, musicals, and Christmas cheer is a particular favorite of ours.

For wrestling fans, this year’s WWE Clash at the Castle is coming from Scotland. And for younger viewers, Peacock’s Megamind Rules! animated series is back with some new episodes.

What’s new on Disney+ in June 2024

After the very slight programming schedule that it had in May, Disney+'s lineup in June actually has some new shows that aren't related to Marvel, Doctor Who, or Star Wars. However, the big attraction for the month is still the new Star Wars series The Acolyte, which is getting a two-episode premiere on June 4.

Disney is also celebrating Donald Duck's 90th anniversary this month by adding three classic cartoons starring the iconic character. Although that does raise a few questions: Why are only three Donald Duck cartoons being added? And shouldn't all of the Disney cartoon shorts have been on Disney+ by now?

The 50 best movies on Netflix right now (June 2024)

There are better times coming for Netflix this summer, but the first weekend of June is pretty quiet by streaming standards. Jennifer Lopez's sci-fi flick Atlas remains on top of the list of the most popular movies on Netflix. Even Madame Web is hanging around in the top five, while The Super Mario Bros. Movie is once again showing its dominance by climbing up the charts nearly seven months after arriving on Netflix.

This week's newcomers include Security, an action thriller starring Antonio Banderas that went largely unnoticed in 2017. But as we've seen many times before, Netflix subscribers flock to films that never hit it big in theaters. Our second new addition of the week is Butterfly in the Sky, a 2022 documentary about Reading Rainbow.

The best movies on Amazon Prime Video (June 2024)

Amazon Prime Video subscibers are going to have to wait one more day for the June movies to arrive, including Paul Thomas Anderson's classic Punch-Drunk Love. The good news is that Prime Video had one more big release in May that's topping the charts at the moment: Die Hart 2: Die Harter.

Additionally, only a handful of titles were dropped from Prime Video's library for June. So many recent films from Universal Pictures and Paramount remain available. And later this month, Universal's Oppenheimer will be coming to Prime Video as well. Since that's the reigning winner for Best Picture at the Oscars, it's going to be a popular selection.
