Miami Heat Named as Perfect Destination For Kevin Durant

Miami Heat has been named as the perfect destination for Kevin Durant by one of his former teammates.

Since leaving the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Durant's career has stagnated to a certain extent. Could a move to the Miami Heat be on the cards for the two-time NBA champion in the future?

Durant won both his rings with the Warriors, winning the NBA Finals MVP on both occasions as well. During this period of time, many considered him the best basketball player on the planet.

Durant made a bold decision by choosing to leave the Warriors in the summer of 2019 and it has not paid off so far.

Since that exit, Durant has represented the Brooklyn Nets and the Phoenix Suns and has not even made the Conference Finals with either team.

This season, the Suns got swept in the first round of the playoffs against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Durant has a record of 68-60 without Stephen Curry in the playoffs in his career. That does not make for good reading.

Also, there is speculation around Durant's future once again. There are rumours that he is unhappy in Phoenix.

Despite Durant's questionable playoff record, nobody can deny that he is one of the best in the world, a bonafide superstar and most teams would jump at the chance of signing him.

Kendrick Perkins, a former teammate of Durant from their time together with the Oklahoma City Thunder, believes that Miami could be the perfect destination for number 35.

Perkins said on First Take: "We know the Miami Heat went to two NBA Finals. Jimmy Butler was not able to get them over the hump. You get a guy like Kevin Durant in there. And also, the Miami Heat, they got the valuable, they got some pieces."

The Miami Heat are expected to look to strengthen over the summer after suffering a first-round playoff exit themselves, against the Boston Celtics.

The idea of Durant playing his basketball in Miami would excite a lot of fans. It remains to be seen how realistic that is though.
