Jayden Melendez caps Miami homecoming by sending Pitt to ACC tourney
At The BallparkCORAL GABLES, Fla. – Jayden Melendez never conquered the Miami Hurricanes when he played for crosstown FIU, getting outscored 29-6 in two games.
On Saturday, Melendez – now playing for Pittsburgh – had the tie-breaking three-run homer that helped beat Miami 10-7, clinching for the Panthers a berth in the ACC Tournament.
Mervyl Melendez, Jayden’s father and the former FIU coach, was at Saturday’s game along with several other family members and friends.
