Where is The Fortune Hotel filmed? Inside Granada’s luxury Silversands resort

The resort has been visited by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Kate Moss and Donatella Versace

Billed as a “high octane” reality television show, ITV’s The Fortune Hotel has not only got viewers talking about the game show’s brutal format but its idyllic location too.

The Fortune Hotel opened its doors on Monday, inviting viewers into a luxury Caribbean resort filled with opulence – and deception.

Ten couples are given a briefcase each. Eight briefcases are empty and one contains an early checkout card, which can see contestants kicked off the show’s Caribbean island before they can say “Pina Colada”.

Participants have to lie their way into passing on the suitcase with the check-out card and try and get hold of another all-important case, which holds £250,000 in cash.

Stephen Mangan hosts this “Whogotit” as he leads contestants through a series of challenges, where they each get the chance to try to uncover who has which case.

Other than the jackpot, ITV producers have clearly splashed out on the show’s setting, putting the couples up in a five-star luxury resort.

Where is The Fortune Hotel filmed?

The five-star hotel is located on the southern part of the Caribbean, in Grenada, just 100 miles from Venezuela and an 11-hour flight from London.

The resort, Silversands Grenada, has been visited by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Kate Moss and Donatella Versace.

You can stay at Silversands Grenada too, if you can afford it. Their rooms start at around £700 a night and beachfront villas, offering 6,800 square foot of living space and sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea, cost upwards of £6,000 a night.

Opened in 2018 and built by Egyptian businessman and billionaire Naguib Sawiris, the resort boasts the longest pool in the Caribbean (100 metres), two luxury dining areas, a rum and cigar bar, a gym, sauna and ice cave and a spa offering “locally-inspired treatments and rituals”.

Mr Sawiris’s Ora Developers company owns a $2.5bn (£1.99bn) global real estate portfolio, comprising Ayia Napa Marina in Cyprus, and the Eighteen luxury residential project in Islamabad, Pakistan

Guests at Silversands Grenada have a choice between 43 hotel suites and eight residential villas, situated on one of the island’s sloping hillsides.

Lucky visitors, with plenty of cash, can enjoy their own private pool, a fully equipped kitchen and a pristinely manicured garden.

Putting up The Fortune Hotel’s contestants was so expensive that ITV bosses reportedly emptied their room’s mini bars of drinks so it wouldn’t drive up their budget any further.

Stepping outside Silversands Grenada, visitors can explore the idyllic beaches, tropical rainforests and mountains the island has to offer. There are also more than a dozen waterfalls dotted around Grenada, which can be reached by car or foot.

Temperatures rarely dip below 20°C, even during the winter, with Grenada usually enjoying highs of around 30°C all year round.
