Universal Music Publishing Group wins Publisher of the Year at the 2024 ASCAP Pop Awards

Universal Music Publishing Group was awarded Publisher of the Year at last night’s ASCAP Pop Music Awards. The ASCAP Pop Music Awards honor the songwriters and publishers of the most-performed ASCAP pop songs of 2023. 

UMPG received the award for songs including "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (Mariah Carey), "Baby Don't Hurt Me" (Steven Mac), "Barbie World" (Rene Dif, Len Nystrom, Soren Rasted, Claus Norren), "Bloody Mary" (Paul Blair), Calm Down" (Selena Gomez), "Chemical" (Billy Walsh & Louis Bell), "CUFF IT" (Raphael Saadiq), "Dance The Night" (Dua Lipa), "Hold Me Closer" (Bernie Tuapin & Henry Walter), "Lavender Haze" (Zoe Kravitz), "Paint The Town Red" (Burt Bacharach - sample), "Single Soon" (Selena Gomez), "STAR WALKIN' [League of Legends Worlds Anthem]" (Henry Walter), "Sure Thing" (Miguel Pimentel), "Sweet Home Alabama" (Gary Rossington & Edward King). 

On receiving the award, Jody Gerson said: “It’s so amazing to represent the greatest songwriters in the world…  and I want to thank all of you songwriters for writing songs that make us happy, make us dance, make us cry, make us feel something. And music is the great uniter, and we can’t forget that, so thank you.”

UMPG songwriter Selena Gomez also received the award for ASCAP Pop Song of The Year for "Calm Down" (with Rema).
