Kearsarge 14th at CVC Championship

Key players: Kearsarge – Daniel Dalbec (5th 1,600)

Highlights: The Cougars finished 14th out of 15 teams at the Connecticut Valley Conference championship at Hanover High, competing against teams from both New Hampshire and Vermont. Keene (119 points), Hanover (110) and Vermont’s Thetford Academy (76) were the top three teams. Kearsarge scored two points on Dalbec’s finish in the 1,600-meter run.

Kearsarge 7th at CVC Championships

Key players: Kearsarge – Maelle Jacques (1st high jump at 5-1, 4th 1,600) Juliet Faria (2nd 200, 4th 100), Ava Shapiro (3rd 800), Ashley Frenkiewich (4th pole vault, 4th long jump, 4th triple jump)

Highlights: The Cougars finished in the middle of the pack at the Connecticut Valley Conference championships at Hanover High. Host Hanover (107 points), Keene (94.5) and Vermont’s Thetford Academy (59) took the top three team spots. Kearsarge tallied 44 points as a team.

Highlights: Wachter gave up just a check-swing leadoff double before retiring the next 15 straight as the Tide ended the game by the run rule. Duford blasted a pair of home runs, and Bolduc hit a grand slam and just missed a second homer on a ball knocked down at the fence.

Highlights: The Hawks gave up a 4-1 lead in the sixth inning as Hopkinton and Raymond ended seven innings in a 4-4 tie. Both teams scored a run in the eighth inning (Clay’s RBI scored Salce to tie the game in the bottom half of the frame), but the Hawks finally claimed the victory in the ninth. Elrick shut out the Rams in the top half of the ninth, striking out two and forcing a groundout. Holmes reached on a single and then scored from first on a hit to the gap by St. Cyr.

Highlights: Abbate threw well in relief, taking over for starter Peyton Larrabee and pitching six innings. The Knights went up 3-0 in the first inning. The Falcons scored two runs in the second, but Kingswood plated three more in the fifth to go up 6-2.

Highlights: Campbell ace Logan Daigle and Bishop Brady hurler Shedd battled in a pitchers’ duel in Litchfield. The Cougars pushed across a single run in the bottom of the fourth on a rundown play between third and home. Brady loaded the bases in the top of the seventh with two outs, but a groundout ended the game.

Highlights: Bow’s Grace Modzeleski and Timberlane’s Abby Robinson had a marathon match at No. 1 singles. In a contest that lasted an hour and 50 minutes, Robinson escaped with a 9-8 (9-7) victory that tied the match at 3-3 going into doubles. McCabe and Gula put Bow ahead 4-3 but Bow narrowly dropped the other two matches, 9-7 and 8-6.
