Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google. It was announced in May 2015 and spun off from Google+, the company's former social network.
Can someone help me navigate this situation? Photo deletion, partner sharing etc.
I have an account through my university which used to have unlimited storage. About a year ago, we received an email saying that they will be putting a storage limit of 25GB on the accounts. I have around 80GB there. When that happened, I turned on "partner sharing" to my personal Gmail, which seems to work fine. I have around 80GB in the university account.
Now I received an email saying that they will begin deleting content from the university account in a few weeks.
So the question is - what happens when photos from the university account start getting deleted? Is there an easy way to make sure they will end up in my personal account?
Make sure on the receive end you enable save
I have it set up to automatically save all photos. But then how come my personal account has only about 30GB used? There are over 80GB of photos in the old one.
Well know bug. Saved partner share photos don't consume space.
Okay, so what will actually happen when photos start getting deleted on the original account? Will the used storage space just start growing?
Photos will stay on new account. Bug will prevent storage from being used until bug is fixed.
