Bay Street Theater’s 10th Annual Title Waves: 2024 New Works Festival

Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor presents the 10th annual Title Waves: 2024 New Works Festival. The festival will take place from Friday, May 17, through Sunday, May 19. Over the weekend, four bold, new readings—three plays and a musical—and winners of the Suffolk County teen writing competition Writing The Wave will be introduced on the Bay Street stage.

The festival is a unique showcase of new works in development and cutting-edge theater, complete with staged readings, talkbacks, and critical discussion. It provides a rare opportunity for directors and actors to work on their creations in person.

On Friday, May 17, at 6:30 PM, the winners of Writing The Wave will have their short works performed by acting professionals. At 8 PM, “The Ordeal Of Water” by Stephanie Alison Walker will be directed by Jen Wineman and feature Hannah Bonnet, Ani Mesa, and others.

On Saturday, May 18, at 2 PM, “Polar Bears, Black Boys & Prairie Fringed Orchids,” written by Vincent Terrell Durham, will be directed by Kimille Howard and will star Torsten Johnson, Gillian Williams, Dante Jeanfelix, and others.

On Saturday, May 18, at 8 PM, it’s “Dutch Master: A Musical,” with music and lyrics by Jeffrey Stock and book by Marc Acito. It will be directed by Bay Street’s Associate Artistic Director, Will Pomerantz, and will star Santino Fontana, Melissa Errico, and others with Music Director Andrew Resnick.

On Sunday, May 19, at 3 PM, it’s “House of India,” written by Deepak Kumar. Zi Alikhan will direct and feature Jasmine Sharma, Devon Kolluri, Tommy Bo, and others.
