The series iZombie is a police procedural with a twist. Liv Moore, a zombie, ate the brains of the deceased from her job at the morgue, which also gave her visions of murder victims' lives. Blaine was one of the main antagonists of the series and one of the first zombies to exist in the world of iZombie. He lured troubled teens away from the public and killed them just to sell their brains to the zombies he himself created. Lovecraft Country has many scary antagonists. The series takes place in the 1950s, specifically showcasing the horrors of the Jim Crow era in America. Alongside these horrors are Lovecraftian monsters and a mystery unfolding. One of the reasons these supernatural occurrences are happening is because of Christina Braithwhite.

Christina was a shunned member of the Order of the Ancient Dawn, due to the fact she was a woman. While she wasn't the driving force at first, that was the entire point. The horror of Christina was in her complicit nature. Christina was able to take what was hers while others weren't looking. And, when faced with opportunities to do the right thing for others, like when the main characters Atticus or Leti are in trouble, she turns away. Christina only cared about herself, and her selfish nature made her an intimidating character throughout the short-lived series.

8 The Chucky Series Makes the Movies Look Like Child's Play

Chucky

Charles Lee Ray, or Chucky, had been wreaking havoc since 1988 in Child's Play. The Chucky franchise has seen a lot of death and destruction, but the series is a whole new beast altogether. While Chucky still has the campiness in him that the movies introduce, such as his ridiculous kills, the terror he creates throughout the series feels a little bit more scarier.

Chucky is still a character that takes pleasure in causing chaos and in harming others. He finds his wrongdoings amusing, which makes him all the more lethal. A murderous character that operates on boredom is one of the most dangerous. The scariest part about Chucky is his ability to evade death every time, despite the good guys trying with all their might.

Almost all the most memorable moments of The Vampire Diaries have something to do with Katherine Pierce. Katerina Petrova, aka Katherine Pierce, was responsible for so much of the pain experienced by all the characters. Whether it was Caroline becoming a vampire or Elena's brother dying, Katherine was always there at the scene of the crime.

What set Katherine apart from others was the fact she never turned off her humanity. Vampires in The Vampire Diaries are able to turn off their humanity, which means their actions will not be prohibited by human morals. However, Katherine's destruction was made with her entire morality intact. Katherine was such an iconic villain and a scary threat that she didn't even go to The Other Side but was pulled straight into hell.

HBO's series True Blood brought the characters of The Southern Vampire Mysteries to life. The series was about the world being newly aware of the existence of vampires. However, vampires aren't the only magical species to exist in the series. Among the other mythical creatures of vampires, werewolves, and fairies, there were also witches.

Marnie Stonebrook was a witch who was not fond of vampires. Marnie's mission was to kill all vampires, a mission she shared with a past witch, Antonia. What made Marnie scary was the magical power she held over the vampires' heads. While the series also has other antagonists like Russell Edgington and Lilith, Marnie stands out as a more serious threat to the strength of vampire kind. Marnie's motivations were simple, but her power-hungry persona led to her being feared by the people she was meant to side with.

The demon Crowley from Supernatural was a formidable foe to the demon hunters Sam and Dean. While Crowley did have a short alliance with the brothers, Crowley later became a villain of his very own. Sam and Dean faced many scary demons and horrific monsters, but Crowley stood out among the rest. His presence and influence on the series was felt due to his conniving and manipulative ways. The scariest part of Crowley was his lack of loyalty and one- track-mindedness when it came to self-preservation. Crowley was selfish and only helped himself, but he had the foresight to use his enemies as friends and make enemies with his friends if need be.
