Mohanlal’s most-awaited L2 Empuraan first look was revealed today (May 21, 2024), on the special occasion of the veteran actor’s 64th birthday. The highly promising poster for the movie, which is helmed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, has highly impressed the fans and is now taking social media by storm. Interestingly, the fans are now comparing it with Lucifer, the first installment of the franchise, which was released in 2019, and Mohanlal’s look in the blockbuster film.

Fans compare Mohanlal’s L2 Empuraan poster with Lucifer

The netizens are now going gaga over the recently released poster for L2 Empuraan, which features leading man Mohanlal in his Khureshi Abraam avatar. The fans are now busy comparing the Malayalam superstar’s appearance as Khureshi in the poster with his look in the 2019-released prequel, Lucifer. For the uninitiated, the veteran actor sported an all-white look when he appeared in the role of Stephen Nedumpally in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial debut. However, his darker alternate identity, Khureshi Abraam, was revealed in the film's climax, in which he sported an all-black outfit with a statement Dita grandmaster sunglass.

But Mohanlal has an L2 Empuraan look, as Khureshi Abraam is a bit different from his Lucifer look. The superstar is sporting a slightly longer beard and a salt n’ pepper hairdo in the latest poster, which confirms that Khureshi is a bit more aged in the second film. The fans, who are now comparing the new look with Mohanlal’s Lucifer look, believe that the upcoming Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial might feature the character in a darker avatar. They are also making some interesting predictions about the scene from which the poster click is taken on social media.

Netizens hail director Prithviraj Sukumaran

The netizens, especially Mohanlal fans, are extremely impressed with the promising new poster of the superstar and are now hailing director Prithviraj Sukumaran for the same. The cine-goers point out how the multi-faceted talent has always succeeded in impressing as a director, even though he is extremely busy with his successful acting career. They feel that Prithviraj, who has brought the best out of Mohanlal with his films Lucifer and Bro Daddy, is set to recreate the magic with L2 Empuraan, which is set to be released in 2025.

Along with Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Sai Kumar, Nandu, Baiju Santhosh, Saniya Iyappan, and others are set to reprise their respective characters from Lucifer in the upcoming second part. Suraj Venjaramooodu, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sharaf U Dheen, the popular Malayalam actors, have reportedly joined the project as new cast members. Sujith Vaassudev is the director of photography. Deepak Dev composes the music score. L2 Empuraan is bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions.
