Disney's Zombies will be expanding with an animated spinoff series that's coming to Disney Channel and Disney+. Officially set to debut on June 28, 2024, the animated series has gotten its first trailer.

The series is dubbed Zombies: The Re-Animated Series, featuring characters from the Zombies films but in animated form. After premiering at 8 p.m. on Disney Channel on June 28, the series will start streaming on Disney+ on June 29. Additionally, it's been revealed that the soundtrack, which includes brand new original songs performed by Zombies franchise stars, will be released by Walt Disney Records on June 28.

The new series, per the official synopsis from Disney Channel, "follows the daily lives of Zed, Addison, and the entire Seabrook crew. Using A-spen’s alien time warp technology, Zed and Addison start their senior year all over again, so they can redo it with all their friends. And this senior year is going to be the best one ever, with the crew hanging out, having fun, and doing everything from saving the town to saving their favorite drink in the cafeteria. At Seabrook, even an ordinary day in high school can turn into a wild, ridiculous adventure."

Franchise stars Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly reprise their respective roles as Zed and Addison. Other returning cast members include Terry Hu as outer space alien, A-Spen; Chandler Kinny, Pearce Joza, and Ariel Martin as werewolves, Willa, Wyatt, and Wynter; Carla Jeffery and Trevor Tordjman as cheerleaders, Bree and Bucky; and Kylee Russell and James Godfrey as lovable zombies, Eliza and Bonzo. Kahyun Kim has joined the voice cast as Dae, a witch and alchemist described as "awkward in a quirky, upbeat, 'adorkable' way."

The animated series is from Disney Branded Television and it is produced by Disney Television Animation. Aliki Theofilopoulos executive produces with Jack Ferraiolo, Gary Marsh, David Light, and Joseph Raso.

A Fourth Live-Action Zombies Movie Is in the Works

There's more to come for the franchise beyond the new animated spinoff. A fourth live-action movie, called Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, is also in the works. The movie is now in development in New Zealand after it was previously announced to be happening alongside Zombies: The Re-Animated Series.

Zombies: The Re-Animated Series will premiere on Disney Channel on Friday, June 28 at 8 p.m., and it will be made available to stream the next day on Disney+.
