Today, May 16, the Russian Federation decided to expel the British military attaché from its country, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the British Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps.

Today, the representative of the British Embassy in Moscow was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they were informed that the military attaché for defense affairs at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, A. T. Coghill, is declared persona non grata. He is required to leave the territory of the Russian Federation within a week.

In London, this was called a desperate move. The British Secretary of State for Defence stated that the problem with President Vladimir Putin is that the British military attaché in Moscow represented unwavering support by the UK for Ukraine in the face of its illegal and barbaric invasion.

He also added that the Russian military attaché in Britain was engaged in espionage activities.
