In a key move for their defensive line, the LSU Tigers have added a significant prospect to their ranks with the acquisition of Jay’Viar Suggs, a transfer portal standout from Grand Valley State.

Standing at an imposing 6-foot-3 and weighing 282 pounds, Suggs recently made his decision to join the Tigers following an official visit to LSU earlier in the week. LSU emerged victorious in securing his commitment, despite strong interest from other top programs including Wisconsin, Kentucky, and Michigan.

Suggs took to social media to make his intentions known, signaling a new chapter in his collegiate football career.

Over his tenure at the Division II level with Grand Valley State, Suggs has demonstrated considerable prowess on the field. As a starter for two of his five years at the institution, his stats speak volumes; he has amassed 42 tackles, with 14.5 of those being for a loss, in addition to contributing eight sacks, forcing two fumbles, and deflecting nine passes.

A native of Flint, Michigan, Suggs honed his football skills at Clarkson High School before making a name for himself at Grand Valley State.
