I have had some questions about the symbolism behind GRRM's dragon choices in the series for quite a while, and most of it is just questions with no answers. One of the questions of course has to do with which dragons produced eggs (some confirmed, some not) and who rode the dragons that came from those eggs.

In the TV series season 1 we learn that the egg Rhaenyra chose for Balon's cradle (and that Daemon later stole for his fictional child) came from Dreamfyre, who was Rhaena's dragon and then Helaena's. I am wondering if there is any meaning to this. Will this egg come back again in the series (Morning maybe? or Tessarion?). Is this directly from GRRM that Balon's egg came from Dreamfyre? I don't remember this detail from the books but this show is trying to be generally faithful to the deeper mysteries of the series.

What meanings have you drawn from various dragons, their descriptions and who rode them?
