Has anyone seen The Sixth yet? Wow…

Discussion

I know there’s been a lot of discussion about A24 not promoting it.

It was available to rent on Apple TV+. I’m about halfway through the documentary and it’s enthralling and horrifying.

Mind you, I know a lot about this subject matter and have already seen a few documentaries on the subject.

If you haven’t seen it, definitely check it out. It’s not only a great documentary, it’s important.

Why isn’t this film being promoted?

It should be. I’m a huge documentary junkie. This was easily one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. Arguably the most important too.

What struck me about this doc is how straight it is. No both sides bullshit, just a hard look at an attempted coup de tete in 21st Century America. I found it terrifying, both in terms of looking at an historical event but also looking ahead to a future unsure at best.

Yes! 1000% yes!

Watched it yesterday. Should be required viewing before the election. I’m bummed it’s not streaming on prime and available for everyone like originally intended bc I think it’s actually a different and new perspective being that it’s all first hand accounts, not just regurgitated footage. It was horrifying and essential. And it leaves no room for misinterpretation of events of what clearly happened that day, a coup.

Also, I just watched Civil War in theaters and I feel like it’s a pretty good companion. People need to realize what’s at stake..

I agree. I was thinking of Civil War, especially through the photographer’s story in the film.

It unfortunately isn’t available yet in Canada it seems - or at least I can’t find it - but I’m really excited to see it.

Even if it turns out that I already know everything presented in the doc, it’ll serve as a good reminder as to what’s actually at stake here. I feel like it’s my civic duty to watch this.
