“This is so cruel. I was a chef and I’ll never eat ever again. That’s the hardest part.”

A Galway chef has shared the story of how his life has been impacted by the surgical removal of part of his tongue due to cancer as he launches a GoFundMe campaign.

Ben Richardson explained to the Irish Independent he was first diagnosed with tonsil cancer in 2008, when he was only 32. After chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, Ben recovered successfully, but four years ago, when he thought cancer was just a memory, he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in his tongue.
