PSA World Champs – Quarter Finals: Preview & How to Watch Live

16 May 2024

The two remaining quarter-finals of the 2023-24 CIB PSA World Championships are being played today as two all-Egyptian matches will take place on the glass court at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation in Cairo, Egypt.

Up first will be No.3 seed Nouran Gohar taking on 2019 runner-up Nour El Tayeb. The pair have gone up against eachother 20 times on the PSA tour with Gohar holding 15-5 advantage and hasn’t tasted defeat in the last 10 meetings. El Tayeb has spoken during the event about how she doing everything she can this week to maximise her chances of winning the biggest event on the calendar and won’t want he run to end at the quarter final stage.

Following that match, No.2 seed Hania El Hammamy will be looking to book her place in a second successive World Championships semi-final as she takes on Rowan Elaraby. The former came back from 2-0 down against England’s Georgina Kennedy in the previous round, a very impressive performance by the World No.10. Could this have taken too much out of the legs of her heading into this quarter final clash with a deadly opponent?

Play will start at 19:30 (GMT+3) with action streamed live on SQUASHTV. Live scores are available to view here.
