Barbara Garza-Roberts OBITUARY

HAMPTON – Barbara “Gayle” Cook Garza-Roberts, 73, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for many years.

Surviving her are son, David Cook and his wife, Ann; daughters, Susan Atchison and her husband, Bill, of Yorktown, Va., Robin Picott and her husband, Bill, Debra Barth and her husband, Jay, all of Hampton; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ethel Altice and her husband, Buddy, and Vivian Massie, all of Roanoke, Va.; and brother, Richard Kelly of Alexandria, Va.

Friends are invited to visit from 11 a.m. until noon on Monday, Dec. 29, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, where a celebration of Gayle’s life will follow at noon with the Rev. Lloyd Donica officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the Newport News Nursing and Rehab Center, along with Riverside Hospice Care, for their excellent care of our mother.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the building fund of Bethel Baptist Church, 1647 Briarfield Road, Hampton, Va. 23669.
