The Atlanta VA Health Care System is celebrating National VA Research Week

2024 Research Week

“Our research enables us to connect Veterans with the latest developments in medical care, supporting their health and well being and advancing excellence and reliability in the VA health system.”

The Atlanta VA Health Care System is celebrating National VA Research Week, May 13-17, honoring the contributions of its scientists as they seek to discover medical breakthroughs that improve outcomes for our Veterans.

Atlanta VAHCS conducts a large, active research program that contributes to scientific studies and clinical trials that benefit Veterans as well as our entire community.  The Research program includes the Center for Visual and Neurocognitive Rehabilitation (CVNR), Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC), strong research programs in multiple specialty clinical areas, and growing programs in precision oncology.

“VA research has had a significant impact on our mission of caring for those who have served in our nation’s military,” Dr. Michael Hart, Atlanta VAHCS Research Chief said. “Our research enables us to connect Veterans with the latest developments in medical care, supporting their health and well being and advancing excellence and reliability in the VA health system.”
