Q&A
I’m planning a trip to Utah this summer I’m going to be in St. Gorge and one of the things I like to do is collect the flags of the cities/states I go to and was wondering if there was any place I could get the flag locally? Any help is appreciated.
Good luck; I do this with national flags, but I gave up on most cities and even states/provinces/territories/regions/whatever a while ago because a lot of them just don't have them easily available. Cedar City, about 45 minutes north of St. George, just got a new flag and you can't buy it in-town. Not a single store sells it, and the City's express instructions to people who want it are to order it online from Colonial Flag. If you can find a place locally selling the St. George flag, please let me know!
Edit: I also haven't seen the new State flag anywhere in-person, but I know that the St. George Harmons (1189 E 700 S, St. George, UT 84790) has the 125th Anniversary Flag on a shelf with the Utah souvenirs in their Cafe, if you're interested in that flag.
Edit 2: removed redundancy
Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen one for sale. You could try: Cowboys and Indians, Alpha Graphics, City Hall.
Seems like a cool vexillology project - just tricky finding the resources. Maybe some cool local styled handkerchiefs or something.
I've always wondered too. It's a great flag.
Indeed. From CRWflags:
The logo is a sunburst, which represents the weather and climate, activity, tourism, retirement, pioneer heritage (through similarity to a wagon wheel), and industry and enterprise (through similarity to gears). The yellow is bright and optimistic, and the blue represents leadership, clear blue skies, and life-sustaining water.
I find a few places with a basic Google search!
All I got was the English flag (St. George's Cross) adding Utah gives me a lot of places where I can order it online, but none where I can buy in-person. Mind sharing the ones you found?
My bad, didn't read your comment correctly.
