Starkey Livio AI 1600 - interal battery replacement issues

Back in December of 2020, I recieved a pair of Starkey Livio AI 1600 hearing aids from my local audiologist. For three years, they worked well. Unfortunately, the internal batteries, which used to last as long as 14 hours, now last no more than 90 minutes. I contacted the audiologist and was told that, since the 3-year warranty was up, I would have pay out-of-pocket $350 per device to get the get batteries changed. This seemed insane to me so I called Starkey and their so-called customer support told me that I have to go through my audiologist and they have no say on pricing.

So I'm left with a pair of hearing aids that were $7500 when I first got them and are now virtually useless.

My question: Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Starkey Livio and, if so, did you find a way to repair them? My insurance will help, but only ever five years, which means I'm stuck for the next 18 months.

I admit it's a bit frustrating.

You have to go through your audiologist for help.

You can not replace the batteries yourself.

I have Phonak Audeo Lumity L70 RL Life (still under warranty) but if I have to get the battery replaced I have to pay $300 (I only have 1 hearing aid).

The reason why it's expensive is because Starkey can't just replace the batteries they have to replace all the components.

I understand that it's a lot of money but it's either Pay $350 for repair or buy new devices.

Starkey can't help direct to consumers so they can't tell you the pricing because of every audiologist offices has different prices
