Sandeep Sharma with the 18th over. Full and wide but Curran can’t put it away. Just a single. Ashutosh waits on the slow ball to take another single. Back of a length from Sandeep and Curran slaps it to long on for a single to get to his fifty. Sandeep goes short last ball and Curran pulls it and pulls it well. SIX!!!

Ashuthosh and Curran sneak in a risky single to start off the Avesh over. Curran on strike now. A dot ball follows before Curran adds another single with a tap to mid off. Ashutosh returns the strike with a cut to deep third man. Avesh goes short for last ball and Ashutosh ramps it over the keeper for a welcome four. 

Chahal to finish his quota. Good running from the Kings as Curran and Jitesh scamper in a double to start the over. Wide from Chahal and cracked away for a four by Curran. 

Jitesh looks to go big again. No timing there though. Easy catch for Parag at long on.

Carrom ball from Ashwin and Jitesh picks it up early. On the slot and launched over long on for a massive six. Curran joins in on the fun now. Steps down and extends his arms to cream one over extra cover for another six. The game has swung back into Kings’ favour. 

Leg-sideish from Boult and clipped away for a four by Curran. Boult reins it in for the rest of the over. Just four runs from the last five balls of the over.

Ashwin now with his third. Short and wide from the offie. Curran slashes it away for a four past short mid wicket. Ashwin now wider off the crease and angles it into Curran. Gains three dot balls by that means. 

Third over for Chahal. Full from the leggie and whacked away by Sam Curran for a four. 10 runs from the over as Kings get a move on. 

Avesh Khan back into the attack. Starts by holding down Jitesh with some sharp bowling. Four dot balls to start with. Width now from Avesh and Jitesh cuts it away for a couple of runs. 

Second over from Chahal. Curran takes him on with a sweep shot and gains a four out of it. Couple of singles follow as Royals fielders cut out the doubles with some aggressive ground fielding. 

Ashwin continues from the other end. Two dot ball from the off spinner to start off the over. Ashwin misses the length against Jitesh, who flat bats it over mid wicket for a six. Just seven runs in the over though. 

Chahal from the other end and Royals look to tighten the screws. Dot ball to start with. Just a fraction short from Chahal. Bairstow looks to flat bat it for a four past mid wicket. Well cut away by the long on fielder. 

Chahal loops it up now. Bairstow looks to go for a six now. But there is no timing there as Ferreira and Parag combine to take a clean catch.

Boult responds with a yorker, which is squeezed away for a single by Bairstow. Back of a length now from Boult and Rossouw pulls it off his back foot for another four. Boult brings the length in but drifts onto the pads. Flicked away for a four. 

Sandeep Sharma with the second over for the home side. Bairstow tucks one to the leg side to get off the strike. Sandeep goes full and Rossouw punishes him. A couple to the leg side is followed by an aggressive cover drive for a four. 

Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow begin the chase for Punjab Kings. Trent Boult with the ball for the Royals. 

Prabhsimran charges down the track to take on Boult. Smacked for a four. But Boult has the last laugh. On the money from the Kiwi and Prabhsimran swipes across the line. Top edge and caught by Chahal.

A full toss but Parag hesitates and almost gives away a catch to the bowler, dot ball. Pushes it to point next but just a dot again. A bouncer next as Parag leaves it trying to cut behind. Ferreira faces Ellis. A double and a singe to start with. FOUR!!!! Parag hits with outside edge that goes just past Bairstow for a boundary behind. A single next. A short ball next, a single again. A single to end the over. 

Chahar to Parag, takes a single. Powell follows it with a dot ball. OUT!!!! Powell plays it straight back into Chahar’s hands.

Although RR has qualified for the IPL playoffs, it is on a three-match losing streak and will hope for a win tonight and get back in form ahead of the playoffs.

This is the first game at Barsapara Stadium this season, so we’ll see how the pitch plays out tonight ahead of the KKR clash.

Tonight we play a really good team, and we can spoil a few campaigns now and finish with some pride. We’ve had a really good squad but some of those games we didn’t win the big moments. We are about 2-3 wins away from qualifying.

We’ll bat first in these conditions. This is a second home for us, we have spend quite a bit of time here. We spent two days to assess on whether there is dew, and there isn’t any. The team, the batting and bowling unit are doing great. Everyone is chill and we are excited to come out and play a great game of cricket. I’d be lying if I say no, the camp looks a lot more relaxed. We’ll miss Jos and Kohler-Cadmore comes in, and we might have Fereira as an impact sub later.
