Well, day one is almost over!
We arrived at Mersea Camp just before lunch. After showing the children their tents, we all settled down to eat our packed lunches – luckily the sun was shining and we were able to eat ‘al fresco’. Afterwards, we had a quick tour of the site before starting on our first activities. Over the course of the 3 days, the children will do nine different challenging tasks – the first 3 of which were today.
The zip wire proved to be a real hit as were the archery, low ropes, kit karts and adventure course.
They all enjoyed their first cooked meal here of either sausage or fish and chips. After some free time, during which we had a beautiful sunset, the children enjoyed a hot chocolate before finally tucking themselves into bed for their first night under canvas after a busy but fun day. They are all raring to go for day 2!
