Two months in losing my partner suddenly, what seems to have been a busy week has now slowed down and I start to feel it in the evening . Tried listening to my music but anything brings me to absolute tears . Can’t watch certain films . I think sometimes it’s the end for me but no I have to stay strong for my kids . My youngest being 11 . Just so much heartache .

Hello @Sjw65 ,

I’m part of the Online Community team and I can see that you are new to the community - I’d like to thank you for bravely starting this thread and sharing how you are feeling. I’m so sorry to hear about your partner. Most community members have sadly experienced the death of a loved one and so will understand some of what you are going through.

I’m sure someone will be along to offer their support, but I wanted to share a few Sue Ryder resources with you that might be helpful.

You might also find Winston’s Wish a good place for support, for you and your children Winston’s Wish - for bereaved children and their families. 08452 03 04 05 http://www.winstonswish.org.uk/

I really hope you find the community helpful and a good source of support and I also hope you feel you can access more support should you need it.
Thank you again for sharing – please keep reaching out and know that you are not alone.
Take care,

Alex

It is early days for us.

I totally understand.

I wish I could tell you how to stop the pain but sadly there is no instant answer.

Sending you a very big hug!

I found that around 2 months the reality really started to set in and the pain got way worse. I also have kids , the youngest is 16, and I try to keep it together for them but sometimes I just feel so lost and sad. And another boatload of emotions at the same time.
I can’t listen to music at all as it just reduces me to tears and I can’t watch TV apart from one programme, and I struggle to concentrate to read anything.
So I come on here and this helps - lots of support for you here from others who truly understand.
Sending love and strength. Xx

I am sorry for your loss I too am 2 months in from losing my husband and it’s the worst feeling. I also have a 7 and 10 year old it’s so difficult to navigate them and their grief while also dealing with your own plus paper work, funeral and just day to day. I don’t have any advice I cry a lot but want you to know you’re not alone in your grief.

Hi @Sjw65
I’m so sorry for your loss. My husband’s death was sudden nearly 8 weeks ago too, so i totally understand the sudden shock. Like you all the organising & sorting is gradually coming to an end, but then there’s not so much to keep us busy. Please be kind to yourself & take your time, day by day, I’ve been told, is the best way to move forward. Sending love to you & your family xx
