Bozena Knapinski: Attempted poison murder charges against woman dropped after expert evidence bungle

The State has been forced to drop attempted murder charges against a woman accused of trying to poison her former husband after discovering just days before trial that the substance she allegedly used is not lethal.

Presiding judge Justice Amanda Forrester said she was baffled by the blunder and questioned why the prosecution only clarified the detail with their expert last week given that it underpinned the accusations against Bozena Knapinski.
