Moriyasu, aged 55, has shown a track record of staying in his jobs for a considerably long time, only having 2 managerial roles in his career since 2004, with those being a spell at Sanfrecce Hiroshima from 2011-2017, winning the J1 League in 2012 and 2013. He then was hired with the Japanese National Team from 2018 onwards.
