Less than a month after the Iranian attack on Israel, which led to the cancellation of flights to and from Israel by many foreign airlines, one of the most significant foreign airlines operating in the country is taking a dramatic step for those planning to fly to the US.
The American airline United, which had already resumed flights to Israel since the Iron Swords war broke out, canceled all its flights to the country in mid-April and has not returned since. Now, the company is announcing the cancellation of all flights to Israel until June 1. This marks their longest delay since mid-April, as they have chosen to postpone only a few days at a time until now, but this time the delay is being extended for almost a month.
This move leaves Israel's national carrier El Al as the sole airline operating flights from Israel to the US, while Delta is expected to resume operations in June, although there may be additional changes. American Airlines is not expected to resume operations in the country until at least October, according to an announcement made by the company a few months ago.
Other airlines that have yet to return to Israel since the Iranian attack include: Air India, which is expected to resume flights on May 16; Air Canada, expected to return on July 2; and Easyjet, which has canceled all flights to Israel until the end of October. Additional changes may occur in these cases as well.
The US is considered one of the most popular destinations for Israeli tourists, and United's decision is expected to significantly impact flight routes to the country.
