crazy that we still only have one Hartnell Set and no Troughton Sets as yet. BBC need to animate all the missing episodes and get on the ball before most if not all the people involved with the first 7 years of the show have died!
Love Tom Baker! That man is a national Treasure and The Definitive Doctor:) I just ate a whole bag of those Taverns Jelly babies he was always offering his enemiesbought a bag from Whonorthamerica .
When I first started watching Doctor Who on PBS television, Tom Baker was my favorite Doctor in the early 80s around 1980-1981. Later on I purchased Doctor Who DVDs, then later Doctor Who Blu-ray discs. I have not seen all the Doctor Who actors yet, but so far for the 20th Century Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor Who fictional character, and maybe once I start watching the 21st Century Doctor Who characters Tom Baker might still be my favorite Doctor, but one day I look forward to watching all the Doctor Who Blu-ray discs. The problem with me saving my favorite movies and TV series as the last thing I watch, is that I keep putting off watching Doctor Who, Star Trek, and my James Cameron marathon of movies. But possible six months to a year from now some of my favorite programs will be watched again on Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray, and a few 21st Century TV series like Doctor Who and Star Trek will be seen for the first time.
All Doctor Who Blu-ray discs contain lossless audio and I am glad to hear 5.1 mix for Horror of Fang Rock. Only film-based Doctor Who programs receive native 4K Blu-ray or 2K Blu-ray releases. Since the source material is not film for this season, it has been professional upscaled by BBC studio from PAL videotapes to 1080i using MPEG-4/AVC codec. So will look and sound better than the lossy audio DVD with 480i NTSC at MPEG-2. As a real cool bonus Doctor Who fans can listen to Tom Baker all new audio commentaries. I have always liked Tom Baker audio commentaries. Looking forward to this release on July 9th, then it will most likely sit around on the shelf for six months to a year before I actually watch it.
