DOHA: Until May 18, the fair continues to showcase rare manuscripts, literary works, and cultural treasures, earning admiration for Oman’s rich literary heritage and international presence.

Visitors to the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion have been captivated by diverse offerings, including historical publications, literary masterpieces, and insightful research materials. Notable figures such as His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Culture, and His Excellency Imad al-Din Hamdan, Palestinian Minister of Culture, have paid visits to witness the display of rare Omani manuscripts and engage with the country’s literary achievements.

Participating publishing houses have showcased a wide range of titles spanning the history of the Arabian Peninsula, poetry, literature, research, politics, and more. Abdulaziz bin Mubarak Al Rahbi, representing the Omani Society of Writers and Writers, highlighted the significance of this participation in promoting Omani literature and historical narratives to a global audience.

Dalia Al-Sabbagh from Dar Al-Watad for Qatari Books and Publications emphasized their focus on Qatari law-related publications alongside a mix of contemporary and heritage titles. Similarly, Qasim Mansour from the Arab Network for Research and Publishing shared the house’s commitment to providing valuable knowledge in political, intellectual, and sociological domains to Arab readers.

The exhibition also witnessed the participation of renowned publishers such as Al-Hakmi House from Saudi Arabia, offering insights into Arab and Gulf history, genealogies, tribes, literature, and poetry. Ahmed Atef from the Atef Heritage Library in Cairo brought rare publications dating back to the early 1900s, attracting a wide readership interested in historical and political subjects.

Visitors expressed their appreciation for the Sultanate of Oman’s pavilion, praising its diversity and enriching content. Including a photo exhibition by the Omani Arts Association showcasing Oman’s tourism further enhanced the experience for attendees.

In a memorable finale, the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra delivered a mesmerizing performance at the Opera Theater in the Katara Cultural District, underscoring Oman’s cultural richness and musical talents. Colonel Fahd bin Saeed Al Farsi highlighted the orchestra’s success, attributing it to dedicated support and training efforts.
