London Broncos vs Hull FC Predictions: Visitors should be able to win in the capital

The bottom two sides meet in London with what is arguably the Broncos’ best chance of a win this season against a Hull FC side rebuilding after a dreadful start to the Betfred Super League campaign. (Kick-off 15:00).

Here are my London Broncos vs Hull FC predictions.

London Broncos are 11/4 to win this game and get their first points on the board. Hull FC are on offer at 2/7 to win this one, while the draw can be backed at 20/1.

Team News

London’s search for a victory continues with a home match against the team closest to them in the table and the Broncos know that this may prove their best opportunity to get on the board in the top flight.

London have a double boost with the return to fitness of key pair Lewis Bienek and Josh Rourke.

The two are named by boss Mike Eccles for the first time this season after picking up injuries in pre-season. Bienek is expected to feature against one of his former clubs despite lacking match fitness.

Hull FC interim head coach Simon Grix makes three changes to the Black and Whites squad for the contest against the only team Hull have beaten so far this season.

The on-loan Tiaki Chan is set to make his debut, whie youngsters Matty Laidlaw and Zach Jebson are also brought into the squad.

Dropping out are Liam Tindall, Jack Brown and Ed Chamberlain. The latter two have left the club while Tindall has gone on loan to Bradford.

A lengthy injury list still contains Brad Fash, Carlos Tuimavave, Jack Ashworth, Miti Vulikijapani, Nick Staveley and Cobie Wainhouse.

Hull FC -10.5 @ 5/6

I don’t like this fixture at all, because London have to win soon and a completely out-of-sorts Hull FC looks like the best chance to do it.

The player turnover is big at Hull right now and is going to get bigger as new Director of Rugby Richie Myler gets his feet under the table and starts making changes.

Warrington cruised to victory over Hull at home last week, and while Myler’s men almost caught Leeds out a fortnight ago, the other game on their travels since Myler’s arrival was that 58-0 walloping at St Helens.

So a bold man would predict a home win for London here, but I just can’t bring myself to do so. I look at the quality that Hull have got and I can’t see them continuing to under-perform in the manner they have been.

I think the Broncos could cause them problems here but I see Hull justifying the odds by nicking it. A couple of scores looks like the most likely margin, so a Hull handicap of 10.5 tempts me most at 5/6.

Winning Margin Hull FC 1-12 points @ 19/10

This may seem a contradictory punt to my instinct on the handicap, but I’m fancying the visitors to win by 12 so this looks a good cover bet to make in case it ends up a little tighter.

London will play with bags of energy which should keep it tight early on, but if Hull can break the back of this one early in the second half then their superior fitness should see them stay clear.
