Arlene Ruth Grose, 88
Arlene Grose died May 7, 2024 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She was born September 6, 1935, to Perce and Hertha Congdon in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School, Oak Park, Illinois. She was married to Edward Seay and later divorced. Then married George Grose in 1972 until his death in 1984 where they both resided in St. Maries, Idaho. She later resided in Hayden and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Arlene's employment background included credit investigating for GM, worked as receptionist, tour agent, reservationist, and secretary for multiple airline agencies, worked for several attorneys in Colorado including State Senator Richard Plock. She later worked as a Public Information Officer for the Benewah Soil and Water Conservation in St. Maries and Plummer, Idaho. Arlene studied massage therapy and practiced out of her home business "Harmony Massage" in St. Maries, Idaho. She was also an oil painting artist.
Her love for travel included trips to Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, and throughout the USA.
Her hobbies and interests included: oil painting, playing piano, collecting Columbian artifacts, and Parapsychology. She Co-founded St. Maries Council for the Arts and Art Gallery.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Alan Congdon; husband, George Grose; stepson, Gary Grose; and her beloved dog Tracker.
Survivors include her beloved children; daughter, Julie Seay; and son, Grant Seay; her grandchildren include, Britta Moran Russell, Lakota Huston Maxwell, Garth Seay, and Carson Seay; her stepsons, Brian Seay and Gene Grose; her stepdaughters, Hope Achenbach and Hollie Grose; step grandson, Lee Grose; and many nieces and nephews.
She has requested a private graveside memorial by family members only and will be cremated by Yates Funeral Home of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries, Idaho with her companion Tracker and next to her beloved brother, Howard Congdon. In lieu of flowers, she humbly requests donations to her favorite charities that include Kootenai County Humane Society Animal Shelter (10275 N. Atlas Rd. Hayden, Idaho 83835) and Hope's Haven (53 Robinson Lane St. Maries, Idaho 83861) because of her avid love for animals. She was a wonderful Mother and will be dearly missed by family and friends.
