Filmed at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park, this Shakespearean classic is directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon and features Tony Award nominee Ato Blankson-Wood in the title role and Solea Pfeiffer as Ophelia. Staged in 2023 as part of The Public Theater’s Free Shakespeare in the Park series.


A Midsummer Night’s Dream

This adaptation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” from award-winning director Julie Taymor presents an emotionally moving take on the deeper human aspects of Shakespeare’s beloved tale.


Much Ado About Nothing

Great Performances

This Public Theater production of “Much Ado About Nothing,” recorded live at the outdoor Delacorte Theater in 2019, reinvents Shakespeare’s comedic work into a contemporary tale. Featuring Danielle Brooks as Beatrice, the all-star production was directed by Kenny Leon, with music by Jason Michael Webb and choreography by Camille A. Brown.


Black Lucy and The Bard

The Nashville Ballet explores Shakespeare’s love life through the perspective of the “Dark Lady,” who appears in the Bard’s sonnets. The production is based on poetry by Caroline Randall Williams and features an original score by Grammy-winner Rhiannon Giddens.


As You Like It (1936)

In this Shakespearean comedy from 1936, Rosalind — the daughter of a banished duke — and her cousin Celia trace the steps of Rosalind’s love interest Orlando in the Forest of Arden. Starring Elisabeth Bergner, Henry Ainley, Sophie Stewart and Laurence Olivier.


Interlochen Academy Presents: Romeo & Juliet

Detroit Performs

Interlochen Academy presents Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” showcasing 41 student dancers from across the United States and Canada, plus members of the Academy’s acclaimed dance faculty.


Shakespeare in the Shadows

Actor Mark Cohen plays six of Shakespeare’s most intriguing characters as the Bard’s hushed whispers and thundering roars unfold against wild Northern California promontories and stark San Francisco cityscapes. Directed by Joshua Dylan Mellars.
