KARL LAGERFELD recently showcased its second Maison collection at the prestigious Milan Design Week 2024.Inspired by Karl Lagerfeld’s legacy and his passion for interior design, this collection presents a series of furniture that blends artistic vision with modern creativity and artisanal craftsmanship. The collection draws heavily on Lagerfeld’s love for flowing, wave-like forms and his keen eye for detail, offering a range of furniture pieces that promise both style and functionality.

Pier Paolo Righi, emphasized the essence of the collection, stating, “The name Wellen perfectly embodies Karl’s visionary spirit, always at the forefront of design.” Righi highlighted that the collection’s inspiration was drawn from Lagerfeld’s fashion sketches, melding his historical creativity with his passion for design to produce a truly distinctive line of furniture. Each piece, from living to dining to bedroom sets, incorporates elements like rib stitches and curves, showcasing the  integration of form and function that Karl Lagerfeld was renowned for.

A highlight of the Milan presentation was the midnight blue velvet sofa. Comprising ten sectional elements, each piece offers the flexibility to be arranged independently, allowing for a multitude of unique configurations. Additionally, the collection featured an iridescent Labradorite dining table with intricately beveled edges and steel-coated legs that mimic conical columns. The choice of unexpected colors and a spirit of originality reminiscent of the 1970s are palpable in every piece, embodying Lagerfeld’s playful yet sophisticated design ethos.
