CSB, Letran lock horns
MANILA, Philippines — College of St. Benilde is two victories away from winning three titles in a row without losing a single game.
And it starts with today’s Game 1 of the best-of-three title showdown against Letran, a team that was never given a chance to make it this far and challenge the league dynasty for the NCAA women’s volleyball title at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
The opener is set at 2 p.m. while Game 2 is set next Sunday. A decider, if necessary, is June 1 at the San Juan venue.
Some say it’s a David and Goliath finale, the Goliath in St. Benilde, which swept its way to the finals for the third straight season.
The Lady Blazers ruled the last two seasons via 11-game sweeps, and this season have extended their amazing winning streak to 38 games in the last four years.
