Trying to find a song, Robert Fripp adjacent—
This may be a long shot. In 88 or 89, I got obsessed with a song and I'm hoping somebody can help me find it. Here's what I've got:
Robert Fripp may have played on the album, but I don't believe that it was one of his albums. It was by someone associated with him and I can't remember who.
The lyrics were an English translation of "La Chanson d'Hélène," so the woman's part was like:
Tonight it is September
And I have closed the door
The sun will not shine anymore
And the man's part was like:
It's better this way, Helen
It was love without friendship
We will change these memories
And I will not write to you anymore
And she was like:
This sucks.
Her voice was quite high, mmmaybe just a bit annoying. No offense.
I've found many other renditions of "La Chanson d'Hélène," of course, but this was the one that turned me onto it and I haven't heard it for, I dunno, a decade or more.
Thanks! I've got my fingers crossed.
The only hope I can provide is that his team work with Toyah Wilcox was frequent about that time. Might want to check out her material?
Will do, thanks!
