Climate Innovation Forum 2024

The Climate Innovation Forum returns for the sixth year as a Flagship Event of London Climate Action Week on Thursday 27 June 2024 in London’s Guildhall.

Run in partnership with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the City of London Corporation, the high-level event will bring together over 1,000 business leaders, policy makers, investors and civil society representatives to accelerate the speed and scale of our collective efforts in driving climate action.

The Climate Innovation Forum is a key platform for sharing the brave leadership, innovative solutions and radical collaborations needed to achieve a resilient and net-zero-emissions world by 2050. Midway between COPs, the Forum will focus on translating promises into tangible actions, highlighting the critical role of the real economy in delivering the transition.

Reshaping local food systems to thrive and adapt

Solutions to challenges in the food system are often too generic, global, and do not consider the local context where changes and impacts play out. For actors to enable deeper systemic impact, they need to apply place-based approaches that engender locally tailored and appropriate food transition solutions, allowing them to reimagine and reshape rural and urban food systems.

The answer isn’t something new; it’s something old: regenerative practices have been around for millennia. Reframing food narratives

Global food systems as we know it today have been shaped by particular dominant mindsets and priorities. To get to food systems that are just and regenerative, we need to reframe the narratives about their goals and priorities, concerning both what food systems are for and the nature of the change needed to get there.

The Five Capitals - a framework for sustainability

The Five Capitals Model provides a basis for understanding sustainability in terms of the economic concept of wealth creation or ‘capital’. Any organisation will use five types of capital to deliver its products or services. A sustainable organisation will maintain and where possible enhance these stocks of capital assets, rather than deplete or degrade them.
