Cecchetti International Classical Ballet Competition 2024 – Selected ISTD dancers

Thank you to our selection event adjudicators, Ruth Brill and Jonathan Payn, who adjudicated the competition, reviewing both online entries and those dancing live on the day. Thank you also to our class teachers at the live event; Peter Parker who took the Classical Ballet Classes, Kate Durrant the Contemporary classes, and our accompanist Jonnie Gait.

The Cecchetti International Classical Ballet (CICB) Competition is held every three years in various countries around the world. On July 21-27, 2024, the competition will be hosted by the Cecchetti Council of America in beautiful Holland, Michigan, USA. 10 dancers, 4 Junior and 6 Senior dancers, will travel to Holland, Michigan, USA to represent the ISTD Cecchetti faculty and take part in the competition, comprising of various classes and performance opportunities. They will perform for an international audience and world-renowned choreographers and dance professionals.

The competition’s networking and scholarship opportunities provide participating young artists essential skills and valuable experience to pursue continuing dance education and promising professional careers. Our selected dancers will be accompanied by their families and our ISTD CICB delegates and team managers, Kate Simmons and Gillian Hurst.

We are grateful to the Cecchetti Society Trust (CST) for generously providing a number of bursary awards to various selected dancers in order to attend the competition.
