Chapter Text

“He’s waking up…”

”Eh…” Izuku mumbled as he opened his eyes. His vision was blurry, revealing a place foreign to him right now. He was suppose to be in Ground Beta, but it looks like he is inside an office. “Where… am I?”

”You’re in my office, dear,” Recovery Girl answered as she walked to her hospital bed. “Everyone is worried about you. Not only did you injure your arm,” she said as she pointed at Izuku’s right arm, currently covered in bandages. “You had another manic episode.”

”I-I did?” Izuku stuttered as he began recollectng himself.

”You don’t remember?” Recovery Girl asked.

Izuku held his head with his uninjured arm. ”I… don’t know… All I remember was fighting that robot Nezu released and destroying it… After that… everything’s blurry to me… Wait… I think I…” His eyes widened in realization. “A-Are they okay?! K-Kirishima-kun! A-Ashido-san! Jiro-“

”They’re all okay,” Recovery Girl cut Izuku off. ”Breathe, Midoriya. Deep breaths…” The greenette complied and started calming himself down. “No one got hurt.”

Izuku’s body drooped down as he held his head with his left arm. “Why do I keep doing this? All I do is make people worry about me. Can’t I just be normal?

Recovery slammed her cane down, causing the greenette to tense up. ”It’s natural for people to worry for others. Your mental health is no laughing matter. It’s evident that you’ve been suffering from PTSD ever since that incident and it’s something that won’t stop. Not only that, you’re dealing with hallucinations. We are doing the best we can to help you because we care for you.”

Izuku looked away in guilt.

”Your friends explained the situation and I believe you were suffering from visual hallucinations because of your trauma,” Recovery Girl explained. “You were seeing things that weren’t there, but believed they are real.” Recovery Girl looked at Izuku with sorrow. ”You were hallucinating. Your insecurity and thoughts were being projected during that time. Nothing of sorts happened.”

”I wanted to doubt it… but it felt so real… Tatsumi-kun… the people… the flames… were everywhere… buildings were destroyed… I-I even saw those bodies… N-No! M-My team!” Izuku’s eyes widened as he started hyperventilating.

Recovery Girl was startled by the sudden revelation and moved forward to calm the greenette down. ”Midoriya-chan! Breathe! Calm down! Deep, slow breaths! One… two… three…” Izuku complied and began taking slow breathes. “One… two… three… Are you okay?”

Izuku slowly nodded as his body slumped. “I’m feeling tired…”

”It’s just the effects of my Quirk. I wish it can also heal emotional damages as well… Once again, your teammates are fine. They had some pretty minor injuries from fighting the robot, but they are okay. They all went home safely,” Recovery Girl assured the greenette.

”I’m glad…” Izuku muttered, looking down on the white hospital sheet.

“When I get my hands on that oaf and that rat, I’m gonna tear them to pieces. What were they thinking sending out high military-graded robots for inexperienced kids to fight?!” Recovery Girl hissed as she widened her hands to measure Nezu’s width and act like she is strangling him. “For the love of god, just because they’re ‘prodigies’ doesn’t mean they’re on the same level as Pro Heroes, as much as these people like to say they are! If they really wanted to test it out, they should have used actual Pros!” She sighed out of frustration. “This school would burn to the ground in lawsuits if I didn’t exist!”

Izuku looked at her as if she was crazy.

Recovery Girl caught on and glared at him. “Don’t look at me like that, young man! They need to be more careful! I should say the same for you, but it’s understandable why you took that route. Those robots weren’t made to be destroyed by an ordinary person or with a powerful Quirk. Of course, someone with a Quirk as powerful as yours… can destroy it easily.”

”It felt like I had no other choice, but I knew I should’ve done something else…”

”Nobody is perfect, Midoriya-chan. We can’t expect to always find the best case scenario in things. Now… Because of what happened… I predict you were suffering from psychosis…”

”Psychosis…”

”A break from reality that leads to hallucinations, delusions, and paranoia. You see or hear things that don’t exist or aren’t around you. It can happen from several disorders like schizophrenia or bipolar syndrome, and in your case… Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Tell me, sonny… What do you think causes these episodes?” Recovery Girl asked.

”…” Izuku pondered. “It just… happens… I feel like it happens more when I feel alone… or when someone could be there, but I don’t know where they are…”

”So… let’s say you did that same attack in the Sports Festival… would it trigger?” Recovery Girl asked.

Izuku recalled that his final attack against Shoto and Katsuki was explosive, especially when both of them were using their ultimate attacks as well. Maybe it was the cheering that was a reassurance. No one was hurt and they cheered the greenette on to no end. No one seemed disgusted. “No… I don’t think so. Everyone was cheering for me… I didn’t hurt anyone…”

”So, it happens without a clear audience. Without any reassurance from anyone in the area, it could trigger. I think there’s another factor that plays into it…”

”W-What?”

”Maybe you treated the robot like a human, Midoriya-chan. You’ve had two manic episodes and they were all caused when you fought robots. Of course, they were meant to be destroyed, but your mind must be messing with you and making you think they’re human. You seem completely fine in the Sports Festival… most likely because you fought other people and seeing as they are either knocked out of the ring or unconscious, you have proof that you didn’t take their life,” Recovery Girl explained.

“I understand…” Izuku said.

”We’ll tone down the whole robot training for a while. Now, in other news, you’ll also need to be careful when using 100% of One For All,” Recovery Girl warned as she showed Izuku a picture of his right arm. “You already know that your build isn’t strong enough to handle that much power. Not only that, your base Quirk, Green Flare, is too uncontrollable at that state. Not only that, the fire resistance you have from your Quirk can only handle too much heat.”

”What are you saying, Recovery Girl?” Izuku asked, sounding concerned.

”The consequence of going over your temperature limit is cellular deterioration. Right now… because this is your second time using 100%, your bones are fine at the moment, but the deterioration is starting to happen. I advise sticking to whatever level you’re using… Okay?”

Izuku nodded, looking down. “I understand. I don’t plan to use 100% at all until I can master it… Whenever that’ll happen… WAIT… How do you know about One For All?!”

Recovery Girl put her hands up to calm Izuku down. ”Calm down, sonny. You’re not in trouble. You’re talking to the person who did surgery on All Might’s fatal stomach wound. He told me about it years ago.”

”Oh! That makes sense… Well, I’m sorry for causing trouble, Recovery Girl… I didn’t mean to be a nuisance- OW!” He hissed in pain as Recovery Girl whacked him in the head with the cane.

Recovery Girl waved her cane around in anger. ”For the love of god, Midoriya-chan… Stop apologizing for your mental health! You’re just like Toshinori! You’re not burdening anyone at all. Everyone’s willing to help you deal with this. Do you know how many people are waiting outside this door?!”

”H-How many?”

”Your best friends, your mom, Bakugo’s parents, Toshinori! Do you think they feel troubled or annoyed checking on you? They’ve been waiting for an hour to check up on you!” Recovery Girl said.

Izuku’s eyes widened in surprise. ”M-My mom is outside?! K-Kacchan’s family as well?!”

Recovery Girl smiled at the greenette. ”Of course! Now… let me help you down. Your legs might feel a bit wobbly because you overexerted yourself…”

As soon as the door opened, Inko turned around and started running towards her son. ”MY BABY!” She yelled as she gave Izuku a bone-crushing hug.

”Okaa-san!”

”When the school called me about what happened! Masaru, Mitsuki, and I got here as fast as we can!” Inko explained in a stressed tone. She then looked at his arm in horror. “Your arm?! What happened?!”

“I overexerted myself… and broke it…” Izuku answered with a hint of guilt on his face.

Inko looked at the arm then back at Izuku with teary eyes ready to leak. “What kind of dangerous nonsense are they putting you through?!”

Izuku shook his head at the misunderstanding. ”It wasn’t U.A.’s fault. It was mine for being too reckless. I should’ve been more careful in the activity we were doing. I broke my promise…”

Inko locked Izuku into another hug. This one was ten times softer than the last one. ”You need to be more careful, Izuku. But, since the lovely lady was able to heal your injuries quickly, I’ll let this one slide.”

Izuku’s guilty face shifted to a warm and calm expression. ”Thank you, Okaa-san.” He returned the hug by wrapping his uninjured arm around her.

”IZUKU!” Mitsuki yelled as she ambushed Izuku into a hug. “We were just about ready to pick up Katsuki and heard that something happened! Are you alright?!”

”I-I’m fine… just need some rest…” Izuku answered.

”Deku-kun! Deku! Midoriya!” His best friends rushed towards his aid immediately.

”E-Everyone’s here?” Izuku asked.

”Shitty Hair told me you went apeshit again…” Katsuki said with Ochaco nodding her head in confirmation. “I blasted my ass over here the second he said it was you.”

”Kacchan…”

”Uraraka told us soon after,” Momo said, stepping forward. Tenya nodded behind her with a concerned expression on his face.

Izuku looked away. ”You guys… You all went through this trouble to see me? W-Well, I’m fine now… Thank you…” He was then chopped on the head by Inko. “Owwww…”

”Don’t brush your friends off like that!” Inko scolded her son, having the angry mom look on her face. “It was no trouble at all seeing you at all! We wanted to see you because we care for you.”

”No way in hell I’m going to let you slide after brushing me off like that,” Katsuki hissed as he walked forward and placed a hand on Izuku’s shoulders.

Mitsuki glared at the greenette, where her eyes were more worried for him rather than angry. ”They’re right. We’ve brought you out of your shell… we’re not going to let you creep back into it…”

Izuku felt guilty. He hated seeing them this worried for him. However, he will only hurt them more than he has done if he keeps ignoring them like this. “I’m sorry…” He said, looking down on the floor.

Inko cooed before pinching his freckled cheek. ”You don’t have to apologize, Izuku. I’m more concerned seeing you hurt than being ignored.”

”We’re all here for you,” Momo said as everyone next or behind her nodded.

Izuku smiled. “Thank you…”

”See? You don’t have to be stubborn, you know? Before you go, Nezu wants to see you in your office,” Recovery Girl reported. “Stay safe, Izuku. In case anything happens, you can contact our emergency hotline.”

”And if you need us, we’re available,” Ochaco offered.

”Okay…”

”I’ll make sure someone watches him…” Inko said as she grabbed Izuku’s hand and started walking.

Nezu sipped on the tea Monoma made for him. “I see… You’ve gotten better! I’m proud of you! Now, that concludes your time here as my personal assistant! You may leave…”

“It was a pleasure w-working with you, M-Master Nezu!” Monoma said before scurrying to the door.

When he opened it, Izuku and Inko entered the office as Monoma slipped away without a word. Nezu’s playful and sadistic attitude was then replaced with his more human-like and compassionate one. After all, it seems he has made yet another error. Something he hates making.

“Good evening, Mr. Principal,” Inko greeted.

”Ah, Midoriya-san! Welcome!” Nezu greeted back. “I’ve been waiting for you! Are you feeling better, Midoriya-kun? Have a seat!”

“I-I’m doing fine! Thank you!” Izuku then took a seat on the chair while Inko sat next to him.

”Now, let’s get straight to business. I summoned you two here because I think I owe you an apology for both of you.”

”An apology?” Izuku repeated in a confused tone. “But, you didn’t do anything.”

”Well, Midoriya-kun, I’m sorry that the result of this project lead to a manic episode. Even if I wasn’t directly the cause of it, it is my responsibility as U.A.’s principal to make sure every single one of my hero students are in good condition. I’m sorry that you suffered yet another panic attack,” Nezu bowed to express his feelings of guilt.

”W-What?! N-No, it’s not your fault!” Izuku put his hands up. “I-It just happened out of nowhere! I-I’ve been doing well these past few weeks thanks to my friends and Hound Dog… But, I-I guess I-I’m still doubting myself… Like… what if I disappoint everyone o-or I make a terrible mistake and-“

Inko scooted her chair closer to hug and comfort her son. ”Izuku, calm down! You’re far from a disappointment. I will never ever doubt my son. And I doubt your friends would ever see you as a disappointment,” she then gave him a smile. “I talked to some of them and they all had positive words to say about you.”

Izuku held his head with his uninjured arm. “I think I need some time to rest, Okaa-san… I just… can’t think straight…”

Nezu clapped his paws to bring the attention back to him. ”Then we’ll wrap up this meeting immediately. I didn’t plan to make this super long. I just wanted to express my apologies for what happened earlier. With that being said, Hound Dog is always ready to help. He’s been asking for you.”

Izuku hummed in realization. “Uhhh… It’s true that I haven’t seen him in a while… Sports Festival, internships, and projects getting in the way and such…”

”Things will be slowing down as of now. I think we’ll be able to make a flexible schedule for you to meet up with him every week. How does that sound?” Nezu asked.

”Sure. That can work,” Izuku confirmed.

“I’m glad your school is trying their best to help my son,” Inko gave Nezu a warm smile as she started ruffling Izuku’s hair. “This was his dream school ever since he was a child. But, life wasn’t very forgiving for him. Seeing him back on his feet puts a smile on my face…”

”Okaa-san…” Izuku gave his mom a calm and happy expression.

Nezu could not help but smile at the Midoriyas. “It warms my heart seeing family looking out for each other. One of the best qualities of a human, especially from the someone as benevolent as you two.”

Inko awkwardly laughed, somewhat explaining Izuku’s occasionally awkward demeanor. “Oh… Thank you, Mr. Principal. I think we’ll be taking our leave then?”

”Of course, Midoriya-san. Have a great rest of your day. The same goes for you, Midoriya-kun. Enjoy your extended weekend!” Nezu said as Izuku and Inko stood up from the chair and began leaving.

”You too, Principal Nezu!” Izuku said before walking out of the office.

“Young Midoriya!” As Izuku and Inko walked through the staff hallway, they found Toshinori running towards them. As soon as he reached Izuku, he pulled him into a hug.

”A-A- Toshinori-sensei!” Izuku stuttered, realizing he almost shouted All Might right next to his mother.

”Recovery Girl told me everything! I’m glad you’re okay.”

Inko’s eyes narrowed in suspicion before realizing something. ”You must be Izuku’s personal trainer! I think this is the first time we’ve met! Izuku’s told me so much about you!”

Toshinori broke the hug to face Inko. “Really? I’m glad. But, yes… I’m Midoriya’s personal trainer, Yagi Toshinori.”

”I-I just wanted to say thank you for helping my son get into shape for U.A. When I heard he was training, I couldn’t hold back my excitement. I don’t know what gave him the motivation to chase his dreams, but all I know he was in good hands…”

”It’s nothing. He’s a bright young man I couldn’t ignore. After all, he caught the attention of All Might,” Toshinori boasted, making a slight chuckle.

Inko’s eyes were ready to pop out of her head. “A-All M-Might?!”

”Indeed. It was a personal order from All Might to train Izuku,” Toshinori then looked at Izuku with a glad expression. “He recklessly jumped into danger to save his friend when no one else couldn’t. He was just a naïve, timid child in the crowd, yet he was so brave.”

”Wait… that incident…” Inko realized.

Toshinori nodded with a wide smile on his face. “As his secretary, he requested me to train him. And here we are.”

Inko put the pieces together. The reason why Izuku’s motivation was rekindled because he met and was endorsed by his inspiration. She knew no ordinary person would be able to help him, given she, Katsuki, Mitsuki, Masaru, and even several counselors tried to help him, but no progress was made. To be honest, she was jealous of the hero. He did something in only a day, which she failed to do for 11 years. But, it can’t be help when her presence and scars only added salt to his guilt.

Inko could not help but bow. “Thank you once again. I want to send my thanks to All Might too. W-Wait…” Inko recalled a news article saying All Might works at U.A. “Isn’t All Might here? He’s a teacher at U.A.”

Toshinori chuckled and waved his hand. ”All Might left immediately, unfortunately. He had some errands to run. But, I’ll express your gratitude to him tomorrow. Please rest, Young Midoriya.”

”I-I will…”

As Toshinori started walking away, he stopped one more time. “Also, Aizawa said your team passed. You expressed good leadership out there and your peers were very supportive of you. Great job.”

Izuku’s eyes sparkled in surprise before gaining a determined face. He then bobbed his head. “Thank you, Toshinori-sensei!” With that, both Midoriyas watched as Toshinori leave and make his way to Nezu’s office.

Inko pinched Izuku’s freckled cheek in happiness. “I’m so proud of my son! Being a leader to your fellow classmates? You finally stopped hiding in Katsuki’s shadow!”

Izuku chuckled. ”Kacchan wasn’t made a leader! He had to follow someone’s orders and got upset! I had to make sure he was in line or else he would’ve failed.”

Inko pinched the bridge of her nose as she let out a snicker. “Oh, Katsuki. Always the rebellious one.”

”I heard that!”

”They’re right, you know. You never listen to anyone!”

”Why would I listen to a bunch of extras?!”

Mitsuki clicked her tongue and chopped Katsuki in the head. ”I told you to stop calling people that!”

Both Midoriyas looked forward to see Katsuki and his parents arguing. Rather, Katsuki and Mitsuki were arguing while Masaru stood there with a nervous expression.

Inko rolled her eyes at her best friend and nephew’s antics. It is what made them special in her heart. ”You two are always bickering. Can’t you just quiet down for one second and help Izuku to the car? He needs some rest.”

”Of course, Inko! I was just teaching my brat not to act like the main character.”

Katsuki crossed his arms in anger. ”I AM the main character!”

Mitsuki karate chopped Katsuki on the head. ”You can’t call yourself the main character when you weren’t elected as a leader in your project!”

”Can you two stop arguing?!” Inko said in an elevated voice, stomping on the floor. This caused both Mitsuki and Katsuki to shiver and straighten up. “I would love to bring Izuku back home!”

”S-Sorry, Inko! C-Come on, Masaru! Let’s bring them home,” Mitsuki ushered Masaru as they both started running to the exit.

”Lemme help you…” Katsuki said as he hung an arm around Izuku to help him, despite being able to walk normally. He had to do something to please the greenette’s mother or else he will feel her wrath.

Excluding what happened at U.A., today, Inko’s day has been very quiet and uneventful.

After the Bakugo family dropped them off at their apartment, Izuku went straight to his room to rest. Despite taking a nap, Recovery Girl also said that his training drained his stamina and her healing Quirk only made it worse, so it is recommended the the greenette rests for the day.

Inko decided to do chores around the house. Cleaning dishes after making Izuku some delicious katsudon before he returned to his room, dust the furniture, laundry, sweeping the floors. Maybe she felt like being productive today on her day off.

She took a deep breath as she walked through the hallway after putting a new batch of clothes in the washing machine then the wet batch in the dryer. “My body is aching… Maybe I should’ve put more burn cream…”

Whilst walking to her room, she stopped next to Izuku’s door as she started to hear crying. “Izuku…?” She quickly opened the door to check up on him and as she expected, Izuku was tossing and turning with tears flowing down his eyes. “Izuku?”

”I’m… sorry… I’m… sorry…” Izuku repeated. “I-I didn’t mean to… I-I wanted… to save my friend… Please… forgive me…”

Inko walked forward and ruffled his head. “I forgive you… You’re a hero, Izuku…”

Izuku’s face scrunched from the sensation, but it seems he was in deep sleep. “Okaa-san…” He must have recognized the touch as he began rambling. “Do you hate me now…? Why… did you tell me to stay away…?” Another wave of tears slipped from his eyes. “I even made… Okaa-san scared of me… Why am I like this…? I don’t deserve her…”

Tears fell through Inko’s eyes. No matter what, those words still seem to bother him.

”Stay away from me!”

Inko hated that betrayed look he had on his face. Because she knew it was her fault for causing it. No amount of sorries could have helped Izuku during that period. She loved her son no matter what. She let her emotions get the best of her and she lashed out at him.

She just added on to her son’s burden. No wonder she could not lighten it up for him. A woman with burn scars caused by her own son, then yells at him. It does not matter if Izuku loves her to death. That feeling of dread will always follow him.

“Izuku…” Inko held him close as she let her sorrow out. “Don’t ever tell yourself that! You’ll always be my heroic son. I swear I’ll make it up to you someday. I shouldn’t have said those words…”

”Okaa-san…” Izuku mumbled. “Am I… still a good son…?”

Inko kissed Izuku’s head. ”Of course! You’re the best son on the world! I would never trade anything for you. Okaa-san would never hate you for what happened.”

”I’m glad…” Izuku mumbled as he smile. More glistening tears fell down from his face. His face looked peaceful than before as he started snoring.

That is what Inko loved to see. Her son happy. All she wants in this world to see her son succeed and find happiness in his life. She gave Izuku one more kiss on the head before picking up the jumbo All Might plush he dropped then placed it next to him. She then left the room and let him sleep.

.

.

.

She then sighed as she walked straight to her room. Her room was fairly spacious and held some fine furniture. If one were to ever describe her room in a few words, they would say “lots of green.”

Inko walked to her desk where she grabbed a picture of a young, skinny version of her, a baby Izuku, and a man with messy black hair and freckles. “Hisashi… Would things have been different if you were here…?”

Midoriya Hisashi, the father of Izuku and husband of Inko, who abandoned them twelve years ago. Or rather, abandoned was a harsh word. He did not give them the cold shoulder then leave, but his words that night angered her and inspired her to be the best mother she could possibly be for Izuku.

That day was the day she found out the Hisashi she knew was a lie. She never knew the true Hisashi, but all she guessed he had to be a despicable person if he had some sort of change of heart. To beg her to make sure Izuku does not “follow his path” before shutting that door.

She pulled the top drawer of the desk and pulled out a picture revealing the younger version of herself and Hisashi together with a tall white-haired man in the middle. They were all jolly. Inko had the nervous smile she passed down to Izuku, Hisashi looked confident, and the white-haired man, with closed eyes, looked calm and collected as his large hands touched both of their shoulders. She recognized the man as Hisashi’s father. When she attempted to contact him in order to find Hisashi’s whereabouts, he disappeared as well.

It was like Hisashi detached himself from the face of the world, leaving a single mom to defend her only child during his endeavors. She always wondered how life would have been if Hisashi was an honest man. If Hisashi was by her side helping Izuku cope with his trauma.

Inko made one more sigh before tossing the pictures in the trash bin under the desk. “Actually, I should burn them…” What is the point of delving back into this nonsense? She needed to face that harsh reality that Hisashi was a fool who played with her heart. She does not have time to worry about him when she needs to take care of her broken son.

But, the shaking feeling she has. Everyone she seems to know and love, just seems to vanish. She sat on the bed and placed a hand on her head. ”No matter what… I’m always alone…”

She quickly hid her sign of weakness as she shook her head and wiped her tears. She needs to be a good mom for Izuku. At least she still has someone she can hold dear.

The Next Day

A NEW DAY… IS HERE

A NEW DAY… IS HERE

A NEW DAY… IS HERE

Izuku tapped the alarm to turn it off as he rose from his bed. He looked at the time and his groggy eyes widened. It was 11:52AM. “It’s already the next day? Heck… it’s almost noon. How long was I asleep for?”

He then looked at his phone to find missed calls from two numbers he has not seen before and a text from those same numbers. He also got a text from Katsuki. “Huh?”

King Explosion Murder

Shitty Hair and Raccoon eyes wanted to talk to you, so I gave him your phone number.

”Kirishima-kun and Ashido-san?” Izuku mumbled as he quickly accepted the contact information for both then checked what they texted him.

Manliness is Divine

Yo, Midobro. It’s me, Kirishima. wanted to ask if you were alright. I saw you freaking out after destroying that robot and I got worried.

-

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

Yo, Midori. It’s me, Ashido. I hope you’re doing okay. I just wanted to check up on you.

Izuku looked at the screen with dulled eyes. “Oh yeah… They must’ve saw what happened…” He closed his eyes and sighed before responding back to both of them, saying he is okay. Before he could turn off his phone, he got another message from Mina.

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

Sucks we ended off the project on a bad note. I heard we passed thanks to you, but I don’t wanna leave it at that.

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

Wanna hang out with us tonight? I got Eiji, Bakugo, Kaminari, Jiro, and Uraraka on board! 😃

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

As you’re talking to the dance queen herself, a guy offered my a pass into the VIP floor in this new dance club that opened and I kinda wanna check it out! Don’t worry! It allows teenagers like us!😇

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

Why don’t we just cool off after what happened. 😉

“A dance club?” Izuku started moving his right arm. Recovery Girl’s Quirk did wonders to it as it feels like nothing happened yesterday. He still needs to unwrap the bandages. He decided to respond back to Mina.

Small Might

Sure. How did you get Kacchan on board.

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

You lmao. Bro’s your ride or die. Of course he’s gonna accept when you’re coming! 🤣

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

I wish I got the phone numbers of the Class B guys. We could’ve made it a team hangout as well, except Shinso, cuz screw him. Just us awesome Class A homies will suffice! 😁

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

Also, wanna invite Yaomomo to hang with us? Maybe you would LOVE to dance with her. 😏

Izuku’s face turned red. “M-Momo-san?”

Dance Dance Revolution Queen

Btw, don’t invite Iida. He’ll ruin the fun. 🤫

Izuku had to agree with Mina. Tenya was a great friend, but there are things out there he would downright decline because of his stern demeanor. Not to mention, he does not like Mina. Maybe he should try getting Tenya to loosen up a bit, but he will leave that to the more social people. Izuku is not the best person when it comes to socializing.

Now, Izuku is still suspicious of this hangout. Mina is known to be the most chaotic and suggestive student in Class 1-A. It is a no brainer that she has some sort of ulterior motive behind it and it shows when Tenya is not invited. Despite Tenya’s stern attitude, he is a good person.

”Worth a try…” Izuku said, making a shrug as he got out of bed. After all, he needs something to cool himself off and his pink-haired friend is doing him a service with that.

.

.

.

Izuku unraveled the bandages that wrapped around his arm. He shivered as he took a look at it. Despite Recovery Girl’s Quirk healing the damages, the arm looks slightly tender. He developed a small scar on his hand as well. She mentioned that using 100% of One For All will further damage his body. Green Flare combined with it is a lethal combo after all, so it should have some drawbacks.

He was the idiot who decided to use it when nothing else was working. His classmates praise him for his high intelligence, especially during battle. However, that moment was one of the few that made him realize that even he struggles in certain fights. What else could he do against a high military-grade robot meant to stand on par with Pro Heroes? There could have been a better solution that he was not aware of.

“No…” Izuku shook his head. No need to dwell on some minor mistakes. He committed to it and faced the consequences, though he wished another panic episode was not apart of the package.

It is something he will have to live with, unfortunately. All he can do is move forward. After all, he was given a second chance to redeem himself. He will not allow himself to be seen as the Cause of the Green Fire Incident, but as Viridian Hero: Dekiru.

”Izuku?” Inko called out.

”Yes?” Izuku answered, exiting the bathroom to go find his mom. Well, she was already inside his room looking for him.

Inko popped out of the room then went in for a hug. ”There you are, sweetie! Did you sleep well last night?”

Izuku’s smile waned as he scratched the back of his head. “Not really… But, I kinda needed some rest after the project exercise. During my sleep, I thought I heard you talking to me…”

Inko perked up and nervously looked away. ”O-Oh. I went to check up on you and just give you a little hug!”

Izuku returned the hug, giving his mom a good squeeze. “You should’ve waited when I was awake! I wanted to feel the hug! Squeeeeze!”

Inko laughed as she gave her son a good squeeze as well. “That’s the Izuku I know!” She then looked at his arm. “I’m glad that your arm is healed…” She lost the smile as she took another look at it. “It’s tender…”

”I guess it just happens when I overuse my Quirk… Other than that, It feels like. Just a bit sore and that’s it,” Izuku explained to at least assure his mother that he is fine.

Inko did not see any signs of Izuku hiding the pain, so she decided to let it slide. ”Well… If you say so…”

”Oh yeah! I’m hanging out with some friends later! They wanted to take me out, so I can get some fresh air!” Izuku announced.

”Of course, Izuku! Speaking of your friends, I talked to them yesterday,” Inko then clapped her hands in delight. “Your friends are quite the bunch! They all had positive things to say about you! I think their names were… Iida Tenya, Uraraka Ochaco, and Yaoyorozu Momo? Wait… YES!” She then realized. “You never told me you were friends with a Yaoyorozu!”

”Y-Yes I am!”

Inko’s silly expression then turned into a more warm, genuine one. “They are all great friends, Izuku. You told them about the incident and my heart melted at how they still defended you, even against Tatsumi. Tell them they’re welcome to the Midoriya household whenever they want. It’s not much, but all that matters is the love that is put into it,” Inko said her motto as she winked at her son.

Izuku nodded in agreement. ”Of course!” He gave his mom one more hug then returned back to his room.

“Let’s see here… Momo… I wonder if she would accept…” Izuku mumbled as he found Momo’s contact.

“This is Momo speaking?”

“H-Hey, Momo-san!”

”Good afternoon, Izuku! Are you doing well after… yesterday?” Momo asked.

”I guess so, but I’m feeling better than before. I just called because Ashido-san is planning a hangout. I wanted to ask if you wanted to come with us!”

”Ashido-san…” Izuku could hear the suspicion in her voice. “And where does she plan on taking us?”

”A… dance club?”

“Hmm… I hope she isn’t planning to do something unscrupulous in there. Clubs aren’t usually meant for teenagers, so I hope she is being good-hearted planning this.”

Izuku snorted. “I don’t think so. It’s Ashido-san!”

”I know, I know… Good grief… I’ll go, but I will be supervising her to make sure she does not do anything. Who else is going?”

“Kaminari-kun, Kirishima-kun, Jiro-san, Uraraka-san, and Kacchan.”

”Bakugo?” Momo said in surprise.

Izuku shrugged his shoulders with an amused expression on his face. It has become a trend where people are surprised Katsuki would accept an invite to a hangout. ”They convinced him because I’m going. Also, she said she rented out the VIP floor!”

”VIP? I see… Well, I guess that makes things a bit more safe… I wouldn’t want us to be around the more… unsavory people in the club,” Momo said.

”You’re right…” Izuku mumbled in agreement. Japan does have a lot of perverted people, especially in clubs. Did Mina make the right choice in choosing a club? “She said tonight at 7:00PM.”

”I’ll be there. See you later, Izuku.” With that, Momo ended the call.

”A VIP room? I guess only my friends will see how bad I am at dancing…”

6:30 PM

”I’ll be back, Okaa-san,” Izuku said as he slid open the shoji door, revealing himself in a white T-shirt with a green stripe pattern in the center, tan pants, and green and white tennis shoes, along with an emerald necklace.

“Izuku? I was wondering when you were leaving. Remember to stay safe out there, okay? Bad things tend to happen during this time,” Inko said.

”I will,” Izuku promised, nodding his head.

”I don’t have to remind you, but you’ll never know what’ll happen. Mitsuki told me Katsuki is going along, right? Keep him on a leash, please?” Inko asked in a smug tone.

Izuku laughed. “I will. See you later, Okaa-san,” he said as he walked to the front door to leave.

”Don’t stay out too late!” Inko yelled as Izuku closed the door.

“We’re here,” Masaru announced as he parked his car in the shopping district of Musutafu. “Don’t stay out too late, boys. Be sure to stay safe. Remember to keep Katsuki by your side, Izuku.”

“Shut up, old man!” Katsuki shouted as he opened the door. “I don’t need anyone to protect me!”

”Thank you for the ride, Oji-san!” Izuku, on the other hand, nicely responded as he opened his door.

After exiting the car, Masaru drove away, it was go time. Izuku felt slightly guilty that he hid the fact that he was going to a club. He hopes to Kami that the club is teenager friendly.

According to Mina, they allowed high school students into the club, but they cannot drink alcohol, so it must be safe, right? But, there was also one thing on Izuku’s mind…

”You need to treat your parents with respect, Kacchan…”

”Shut the fuck up, Deku! You just don’t get our familial relationship!” Katsuki jabbed back. “Now, where the hell are these idiots at? It’s already sus that Raccoon Eyes chose a fucking club…”

”Why did you decide to join?”

Katsuki smirked at his best friend. “I ain’t no bitch. But, if you dumbasses get in trouble, don’t you dare mention me! I’ll just sit my ass somewhere comfy. I’m surprised you’re here.”

”I just need some fresh air and Ashido-san offered to hang out! I don’t wanna be cooped up in the house all day…” Izuku said, sounding melancholic.

Katsuki’s smirk turned to a worried frown. “You gotta remember that I’m close by when you need something. What kind of future #1 hero am I when my sidekick is moping around?”

Izuku snickered. “You’re still on that? This sidekick wants to become their own hero. The No. 1 hero.”

Katsuki rolled his eyes and snorted. ”Psh, the only thing you’ll reach is No. 2. Keep dreaming, nerd.”

Before Izuku could argue back, they saw the rest of the group wave their hand at them. “There they are! Let’s go, Kacchan!” He started running in which Katsuki pulled him back.

”Are you trying to fucking kill yourself, dumbass! This is a crosswalk!” Katsuki yelled as he pointed at the light that shows a red halt sign.

”Oops…”

.

.

.

”Looks like the gang is all here!” Mina said.

”Ashido… just to make it clear, I hope you know what you’re doing. We could get in trouble if you take us somewhere illegal… I’ll call this off if anything happens…” Momo warned, glaring at the pinkette.

Denki placed his hand on Momo’s shoulder. ”Don’t worry, Yaomomo! I checked the place out with Ashido a couple of days ago! It’s looks amazing! Heck, we saw some guys from U.A. over there! Totally safe!”

”That doesn’t make it any better…” Kyoka mumbled.

Mina stuck her tongue out, placing her hands on her waist. She pointed at her friends judgmentally as some had a worried expression. ”But, hey! You all decided to join me! C’mon, loosen up a little, why don’t ya?”

”Seriously, there’s nothing wrong with it! Mina just goes there because they have a Dance Dance Revolution machine in there,” Eijiro said.

”I trust Ashido-san did her research. Arguing like this won’t get us anywhere, so why don’t we just go there,” Ochaco said, breaking into the argument.

”Sure,” Izuku said. “I’m kinda excited.”

”See? Midori’s excited! C’mon, let’s go!”

”Club Escapades?” Ochaco said, reading the sign.

”Yeah! It’s a pretty popular club place! It use to be a small club in Tatsumi Port Island, but then they finally decided to make another one in Musutafu!” Mina explained. “It use to be for adults, but they decided to make it teenager friendly, since us kids keep ‘getting bold.’ How about we give it a try, yeah?”

”I mean… it looks cool…” Izuku commented, shrugging his shoulders.

”Let’s head on inside then!” Denki marched forward and opened the doors just to be blasted with multicolored lights and loud music that could put Kyoka’s sound waves to shame. “Woah-ho-ho-ho-ho!”

“Woah…” Ochaco cooed, looking around all over the place. “So, this is what a dance club looks like…” She covered her eyes with her arm from the blinding colorful lights shining around the club.

The place was a lot bigger than they expected. The entrance was a long hallway that lead to the front desk. From a distance, they can see the multi-colored lights shining brightly on the dancers crowding the stage to show off their skills. As they walked forward to get a closer look, they saw several tables placed all around surrudnding the dance stage with people cheering on the dancers, yelling “GO! GO! GO! GO! GO!”

Eijiro shouted as well as he raised his fist. ”Look at them go!”

Denki touched his chin with his finger and thumb as he looked at a group of ladies in the corner. ”Yo… some of the chicks here look hot…”

Kyoka rolled her eyes, crossing her arms judgmentally. “Yeah… go ahead and make a fool out of yourself, idiot… Half of these people are probably double our age.”

”I must say… It’s quite flashy… And everyone seems to be enjoying themselves,” Momo said in interest. “This IS my first time being in a club. I thought there would be drunks everywhere! Or maybe I was mistaking a club for a bar?”

”Probably. There’s a bar over here, but everyone’s just getting apple juices or something. Only the crazy adults get all the liquor! These people only come here to vibe and burn their dread! That’s why it’s called Club Escapades!”

”Woah! I remember this song! They’re playing Mass Destruction by Lotus Juice,” Kyoka pointed out as she started to feel the vibes of the club.

Mina raised an eyebrow as a smirk creeped up on her face. ”Oh? Jiro’s getting into it?! Well, why don’t we show off a bit of our dance skills before renting out a private room, huh?”

Izuku started backing away nervously. ”B-But, I don’t know how to dance…” He was stopped when Katsuki harshly grabbed his wrist.

”Don’t pussy out!” The ash blonde yelled. “If you can’t, you’re gonna learn!”

”Don’t worry, Deku-kun! I’m not a good dancer as well! It’s about having fun at the end of the day!” Ochaco reassured her green-haired friend.

”Yeah!” Momo agreed. “I’m not the best dancer, but that won’t deter me! It’s about having fun… am I correct?”

Denki gave the pinkette a thumbs up. “Yup! Don’t worry, Midoriya! We won’t make fun of ya!”

Mina’s eyes widened as she started laughing. ”See?! Yaomomo’s feeling the vibes! And she was the one who was ready to call it quits!” She then grabbed Izuku’s hand and rushed to the dance stage.”

”W-Wait!” Izuku protested.

”Ready to party, Bakubro?” Eijiro asked.

“Tch!” Katsuki cracked his neck and stretched his body as he confidently strutted forward. ”I’ll show you scrubs how to dance. Watch me!”

Denki raised an eyebrow as his smirk grew wider. “Oh? Are you challenging us?”

Eijiro had a daring look on his face as he stepped forward to the dance stage. “We won’t let him talk smack about us! Let’s go, Kaminari!” He bumped his fist together in determination then rushed into the dance stage.

”Shall we get going, Uraraka?” Momo asked, lending a hand out.

Ochaco giggled as she grabbed Momo’s hand and rushed forward with her. ”Of course! Let’s dance!”

And so, the eight U.A. students spent some time on the dance floor. Katsuki, Eijiro, and Denki were competing against each other to see who was the best dancer. Katsuki and Eijiro were butting heads at that point as their dancing got more intense while Denki stood nearby, knowing that he could not compete.

Mina was teaching Izuku on how to dance. He failed miserably at first because of his nervous and stiff movement. Not to mention, he kept falling on certain occasions when he tried to replicate Mina’s movement, so she decided to start off slow with him. But, she was quite surprised when she saw that Izuku was picking up quickly. He is known to be a fast learner.

Kyoka’s dancing was fairly simplistic, but she definitely shined when punk rock or rap music was playing. Denki watched from afar as she danced and felt butterflies in his stomach. For some reason, he seems to be entranced by a side Kyoka never seemed to show around her friends. She was always indifferent and mean to him and some of his classmates. However, seeing her genuinely happy made him wish she did not treat him like a laughing stock.

”Got your eye on someone, Kaminari?” Mina sinisterly slid behind Denki as a shadow covered her eyes. “I see how you’re looking at Jiro… You want a piece, don’t ya?”

Denki shivered from Mina’s menacing presence. “Don’t sneak up on me like that, dude…” He stepped forward to create some space between him and the teasing pinkette. “And I don’t know what you’re talking about.” He crossed his arms and looked away.

Mina’s eyes narrowed as she swore she saw a blush grow on the electric blonde’s face.

Denki took another look at Kyoka before rolling her eyes. “What’s the point if she probably doesn’t see me as a good friend? I doubt she’ll even like me… I’m just a dunce face…”

Mina’s teasing demeanor was immediately crushed, being replaced with her empathetic side. “Kaminari…”

Denki looked around, seeing other people dance and have fun. “Sorry… I didn’t mean to bring the mood down! We’re suppose to burn our dread, right?” He put on a smile and started dancing again. “C’mon, Ashido!”

Mina frowned at her friend. She walked forward and tapped his shoulder. “I know she thinks you’re a good friend. She’s just… likes being tough, you know? Don’t let her remarks get to you, okay? I’ll punch her down if she ever actually means what she says.”

Denki looked at Mina with widened eyes of surprise before they narrowed down to express his gratitude. “Thanks… Ashido.”

Mina then smiled widely as she started dancing. “I gotta go back to teaching Midoriya! See ya!” She then ran back to Izuku and stated complimenting him as he started to get the hang of things.

Momo danced with Ochaco while watching as Izuku having a good time being taught by Mina, as he kept making some repetitive movements. It warmed her heart seeing him all happy and such, knowing he was not like this a year ago. It was no secret that he was an inspiration to his classmates because of his power and leadership. She, herself, fell victim to his charms as he supported her reasoning to become a hero, then reassured her when she was doubting herself in the Sports Festival.

While he was an inspiration to those around him, there was none during his time of need. And she, along with the people around him will be that shining light.

”You know what…” Momo mumbled, an idea popping out of her head. She made her way through the dance stage and met up with Izuku and Mina.

”Oh! Yaomomo-san!” Izuku said, making a slight giggle. “Are you having a fun time?”

Momo bobbed her head cutely. ”Of course! It seems I had the wrong judgement of this place! However, there IS one thing I would like to do.” She extended her hand out, awaiting an action from Izuku. “Do you want to dance?”

”W-What?”

Mina could not believe her sparkling eyes. ”Oooooooo? Ima leave this to ya, Midori!” She said as she immediately stepped away.

”To dance, Midoriya!” Momo repeated. “I would love to give you a little lesson.”

“O-Okay!” Izuku’s face turned red as he awkwardly accepted Momo’s hand. His legs began to feel like noodles. Dancing with a girl? He never thought the day would come to this.

“Let’s start off slow. Follow my lead,” Momo grabbed Izuku’s other hand and started sidestepping. Izuku complied and followed her movement.

He was shaking like there was no tomorrow. Every time he looked up, all he saw was Momo’s smile and it just made him look back down. It has been said by many of his peers in U.A. that Momo is beautiful. So, the fact that he is essentially dancing with the most popular first-year in the school just makes him want to believe this is all a dream.

What makes matters worse is that he could sense the amusement coming from the raven-haired teen. She was enjoying his flustered state. It only made him a lot more embarrassed. He sweated profusely as he kept following Momo’s movement.

”A little spin…” Momo ordered as both her and the greenette began spinning. “Stop!” She said as both of them stopped spinning. “Step!” She ordered as she stepped to the left and curved. Izuku complied as both of them stepped to the left in sync with each other. Their left leg moved then their right one followed up to meet up with the other pair.

”U-Uh… T-T-T-T-T-T-T-T-This is fun!” Izuku stuttered.

Momo giggled quietly as she titled her head amusingly. “You’re getting the hang of it, Izuku. Good job.”

”Y-Y-Yes!” Izuku stuttered.

Little did both of them know that their friends were looking at them. All of them had an amused expression, with Mina having the widest grin known to mankind.

”I gotta record this!” Mina said, taking out her phone. She watched through her phone camera and recorded the two class representatives dancing with each other.

”Left, right, left, right, left, right!” Momo said, with the greenette complying. “Your movement is getting better, Izuku. Keep at it!”

”T-Thank you, M-Momo-sam!” Izuku squealed, slow dancing in unison with Momo.

Mina finished the recording as she started laughing. She could not hold it and she definitely did not want her giggling to be part of this beautiful recording. “Man… I’m thirsty…” She walked over to the others to see what they wanted to drink, leaving Izuku and Momo on their own. She will probably just give them some apple juice.

”U-Umm… M-Momo-san?” Izuku called out,

Momo laughed amusingly. “You can drop the honorifics, Izuku. We’re great friends, right?”

“B-Buh, erm!” Izuku’s eyes widened as he stumbled on his words. He coughed behind his fist before clearing his mind. ”O-Oh, yeah! W-Well… U-Um… I have something to tell you.”

”Yes, Izuku?” Momo said in a teasing tone.

Izuku cannot put her finger on it, but something seems wrong. However, all he was worried about is building up the courage to say what he needs to say. “M-Momo… D-Do you… like someone perhaps?”

Momo pondered and she rolled her eyes playfully. ”Hmmmmm… I dunno… I think I do… I think I don’t…? But, all I know is that Izuku is the greatest person in the world!”

”R-Really?” Izuku stuttered with his face turning red. “I-I’m glad you think that way!”

Momo clapped her hands excitingly. ”He’s awesome and… makes me feel like a real person… instead of a trophy lady with a omnipotent Quirk! I’m tired of being ogled by these… sleazy men… I feel like Momo when I’m around him, instead of Yaoyorozu!”

Her compliment warmed the greenette’s heart. “Well… if I-I a-also think y-you’re…” He gulped, as the words he wanted to say scrambled around in his mind.

“Demon child!”

Izuku shook his head and waved his hand around. “N-Nevermind… I’m just being an idiot..”

Momo’s head tilted as she started pondering. “I’m feeling thirsty! Maybe I should get a drink!” She playfully walked away from the greenette and went to the bar.

Izuku watched as she was stopped by Mina, who already gave her a glass of soda. The pinkette then made her way towards Izuku to give him his drink. “Soooo, Midori… How was it? Dancing with Yaomomo?”

”Ehhhhh… I… A-Ashido-san… I didn’t have the guts to say it…” Izuku mumbled.

”To say what?” Mina asked.

”I… tried… saying that I l-like her… But, I just couldn’t say it… I-I‘m still conflicted… with myself…” Izuku said, looking down on the floor. He then glared at his hands. “I don’t feel like I’m good enough for her yet.”

”Midori…” Mina glared at the greenette. “Wait… lemme give these to the others before I come and scold you.” She went over to Kyoka and the boys and gave them their drinks before running back and chopping Izuku in the head.

”Ow…” He rubbed the area he was chopped on. “What was that for?”

”You can’t keep demoralizing yourself, dude. You’re one of the best people I’ve ever met in my life. The way you speak to us, help us, fight with us, it’s awesome. What else do I need to say? Why in Dante’s seventh inferno would Yaomomo reject you?” Mina scolded.

Izuku then glared at Mina. ”Ashido, it’s not that. It’s because… you already know what I did. It doesn’t matter how good I am or how strong I am… I’m dangerous. I’ve ruined many people’s lived and Yaomomo has to inherit her family’s legacy. What the hell am I going to bring to the table? Controversy?” He then walked away from the pinkette without another word.

”Midori…” Mina mumbled in concern for the greenette.

After a couple of more minutes of dancing and having some drinks together, with Izuku sitting down during that time to think, the eight U.A. students decide to take the second floor all to themselves. They all sat on a pink L couch with a large table.

Denki looked all around the second floor in interest. It was certainly quiet and a lot more beautiful than the first floor. “Damn… the fact that we have the whole VIP floors to ourselves… This must’ve been expensive…”

Mina humphed arrogantly. “I pulled a few strings. When you’re the Dance Dance Revolution Queen and an upcoming hero, offers just start coming in like this!” She snapped her fingers. She then downed her drink. “Damn, these things hit the spot! Holy fuck…”

”I know… Whoever is the bartender really puts in a lot of effort making this!” Momo said as she seemed flustered. She was blushing as she started laughing in a drunken manner, concerning the group.

”Ehhhh… Is she drunk?” Denki asked as he started looking at his drink.

“Ashido-san…” Izuku faced Mina with a scared expression. He quickly placed his cup on the table far away from him. “Don’t tell me you’ve been giving us alcohol…”

”What?!” Mina looked at Izuku with a shocked expression as she also started looking flustered. ”I swore I told them no alcohol! These should be normal drinks.”

Kyoka reluctantly took a test sip then shook her head. “I don’t think it is alcohol… It would have some spike on it… But, at the same time… bartenders tend to mix different drinks in it to hide the alcohol…”

”You drunk alcohol before, Jiro?” Denki asked in shock.

Kyoka had a hint of pink on her cheek. “Accidentally. My dad likes collecting wine and I sorta drunk it a few years ago. I just thought it was some kind of fancy drink. Just to tell you, we had no juice at that time and I was really thirsty…”

”I don’t taste it…” Katsuki said in doubt. “But, I’m feelin’ fuckin’ lightheaded though… To be honest, it kinda reeks here… shit… And can someone turn in the AC? Fuck!”

”To be honest… it is getting hot in here… Maybe I should take this off…” Eijiro said as he took off his shirt. Some of the sober ones saw that he had the same flustered expression as Momo and Mina.

”U-Uh! I think you should keep it on, dude!” Denki protested, tugging Eijiro’s shirt down to stop him.

Eijiro glared at the electric blonde, slapping his hand away. ”W-What the heck, Kaminari? Aren’t you getting sweaty? I need some freaking cooling out here!”

Mina giggled and waved her hand around as she gained a purple blush on her face. ”Oh…? Jiro sharing an embarrassing secret? Eijiro showing his hot, sexy abs? I think you have me an idea Maybe we should play a little game!”

”W-What game?” Denki asked.

”THE KING’S GAME!” Mina rose up from her seat and declared proudly. Eijiro and Denki looked at her in shock. Izuku was confused because of their reactions. Katsuki just sighed while Momo clapped in excitement. Ochaco stayed quiet as she kept looking down on the floor.

”Oh! That sounds like fun!” The raven-haired teen cheered.

”King’s… game…” Izuku said.

”You heard me, Midori! Times like this, adults play the King’s Game… It’s the law!” Mina declared, raising her fist. She then jumped as she hiccuped.

”Uhhh… we’re teenagers?” Kyoka commented.

Mina tutted and waved her finger at the earphone jack teen. ”No, no, Jiro… They like to say that, but in this fabulous country… We’re basically adults by the time we reach high school! Why do you think our parents let us head over to his dance club without parental supervision, huh?”

Izuku shook his head. “Uhhh… They expected us not to drink liquor, Ashido-san… This isn’t good… we’re gonna get in trouble!”

”Don’t worry about it, Midori! If anything happens, just say the magic unicorn villain splashed thick rainbows all over us! It always works!” Mina spoke. “I just wanna act like an adult, you know? No parents bossing us around, no Aizawa-sensei threatening us with expulsion? No bullshit! So, I say… Let’s play the King’s Game! Who’s with me?!”

Ochaco mumbled something, catching the attention of the sober teens.

”Uraraka-san? Did you say something?” Izuku asked.

Ochaco started laughing profusely as she rose her head and revealed her drunk face. “I ACCEPT! How bout we get this game goin’ and have sum fun! We gotta burn our dread!”

”Uraraka-san…?” Izuku called out to her with widened eyes. She just adopted a Kansai accent, something they never knew she had.

Mina started laughing annoyingly again. ”See?! Someone gets it! No chickening out! You all decided come here, we’re gonna burn our dread!”

”Woohoo!” Momo cheered.

”Bring it on then! I’m ready!” Eijiro yelled. He pridefully bumped his fist together, showing his readiness for the game.

Katsuki laughed sinisterly as he smirked at the pinkette. ”Fine! I’m no bitch!”

Kyoka stood from the couch and looked at her phone. ”Uhhhh… Look at the time and-“

”The scene transitioned and now I have a chopstick in my hand. Crap…” Kyoka hissed when she realized she was sat back down for some odd reason. ”Fine… I’ll play… How do we play this stupid game?”

”Okay! So the rules are pretty simple if you aren’t an idiot like Kaminari!”

”Hey!” Denki sounded slightly offended by the pinkette’s sly joke.

”We’ll all draw a chopstick from this cup! Each chopstick has a number on them, except one where it has a special marking on it! Whoever get’s that chopstick is the King!” Mina explained. “The rest of us with numbers are servants! The King will pick a number then say what that person has to do! But who has which number is a secret until the King gives the orders! No sharing, teehee!”

Eijiro raised his fist and laughed. ”Damn right, Mina! Tell them!”

Momo clapped her hands as she just downed another cup that was not hers. For some reason, Izuku began to blush. “This is gonna be fun! I can’t contain my excitement anymore! Let’s play!”

Everyone decided to draw a chopstick. After taking a good look at their chopstick everyone looked at each other in suspicion.

”So… whooooo’s da King?” Ochaco asked, slurring her words.

”YES! YES! YES! I’M THE KING!” Mina rose up from the couch and yelled. “Ohohohoho! I have a good one! As the King, I order number 2 to suck teeth with number 5!”

”The fuck?” Katsuki looked at his chopstick, revealing the number 5.

”I’m number 2!”

”FUCK!” Katsuki hissed as Eijiro declared that he had the other chopstick number. “I swear… if you put those sharp teeth my mouth, I’m exploding your ass to kingdom come!” He seemed to be just as flustered as the rest, but it seems he is still crude and confrontational.

”Katsuki?” Eijiro mistakenly looked at Denki. “Well… I wouldn’t mind… It would be unmanly of me to back down from the King’s orders. We gotta do it!”

”Fuck no!” Katsuki yelled.

”Uhhh… Why are you looking at me, Kirishima?” Denki asked.

”Because you’re right here, idiot! I remember those that awesome blonde hair you have! Despite having sharp teeth, I promise I won’t bite! It’s time I show my manliness!” Eijiro yelled as he tackled Denki off the couch. “Let’s do this!”

”GAHHHH! NOT ME, DAMMIT!” Denki yelled trying to get off as he tried his best to stop Eijiro from kissing him. “You got it completely wrong, dude! D-DON’T YOU DARE FREAKING KISS ME! W-W-WAIT, LEMME TELL YA SOMETHING! H-HEY- N-NOOOOOO!”

Katsuki laughed irregularly. ”Fuckin’ glad I dodged that bullet… I ain’t kissin’ no one!” He crossed his arms and turned away with a hmph.

Izuku and Kyoka looked in horror at the scene before them. It seems they are the only sane people in this entire group right now. When Kyoka tried to stand up, Mina quickly sat her down. “Nuh, uh!”

“Bravo!” Momo cheered, clapping her hands.

Ochaco pouted at the scene. ”Awww man… I thought Kirishima-kun was gonna darn give Bakugo-kun a nice wet kiss! I guess he wasn’t thinkin’ straight!”

Mina narrowed her eyes mischievously. “First round is looking pretty lovely for us! I can’t wait to see more of that action, ohohohoho! C’mon, people! Let’s head to the second round! Let those two enjoy the sweet sweet paradise of Club Escapades!”

Izuku chuckled as if he was crazy. ”What did I get myself into…”

”I’m asking the same thing, Green… But just know… I’m kicking every single one of their asses the next time they’re sober,” Kyoka had a menacing aura around her that made the greenette gulp.

“Round TWO, BABIES!” Mina declared. “Pick a chopstick! Any chopstick! But, know… your fate lies in your choice! So pick wisely!”

Everyone, sans Denki and Eijiro, picked up the chopsticks and looked at their number. Izuku gulped. This is not going to be fine.

”Who’s King #2?” Mina asked.

Izuku raised his hand as everyone turned towards him. “I-I’m the King.”

”Oh?! Our very own Midoriya Izuku is the King?!” Mina said in surprise. Her eyes narrowed as she snickered. She rubbed her arms together as she stared at the greenette suggestively. “As the rules in the King’s Game states, the King’s order has to be juicier than the last. Since Kirishima smooched with Kaminari, then you’ll have to find something the same or better than that order!”

“I love this game!” Momo shouted.

”I think Deku-kun should order someone to sit on his lap,” Ochaco suggested.

Momo looked at the brunette with a intrigued expression. “You’re right! I heard it’s every boy’s dream for a girl to sit on this lap!

“Even better than that, but we should keep things PG13! However, sitting on a lap is definitely something a boy wants! How about it, Midori? Sit on lap! Sit on lap!”

”Sit on lap! Sit on lap! Sit on lap! Sit on lap!” Ochaco and Momo repeated in unison.

Katsuki laughed and pointed at Izuku. ”No balls, Deku! You’re too much of a coward to actually dare someone to do that! You’re probably gonna ask someone to hug you or some shit!”

”Uhhhhhh!”

“Midori! Come on! Embrace the moment! Burn your dread! We’re here to help you be happy, you know? You’ve been through too much!” Mina pleaded.

”Yeah!” Ochaco and Momo yelled as they both hiccuped.

Despite being flustered, Mina seemed serious, unlike the other two. ”I sorta planned this trip keeping you in mind. You’re a great friend and hero and no one should ever go through the shit. I just wanted you to loosen up and just have some fun for once…”

”Ashido-san…”

”What she said! You gotta stop acting like an emo fuck, Zuzu! I can’t let myself… lose my best friend once again…” Katsuki said, looking dead into the greenette’s eyes. “So just do it! Just forget about that terrible shit and enjoy the goddamn game!”

”Guys…?” Kyoka mumbled.

Izuku took a deep breath.

“NUMBER 3! SIT ON MY LAP!” Izuku declared, rising up from the couch to assert his dominance. It seems his friends, especially Katsuki, gave him the courage he needed.

Kyoka reluctantly raised her chopstick and revealed her number. ”I’m… number 3…”

”Shit…” Izuku cursed, startling everyone,

”Ohhhhh?” Mina creepily stared at Kyoka. “Ohohohohohohohohohoho! Jiro gets to sit on the King’s lap…? Lucky! So, so lucky! It bet it’s gonna be bumpy!”

Ochaco growled, slamming her fist on the table. ”It shoulda been me, dammit! You darn better not decline Jiro or else I’ll punt ya out of the universe!”

Kyoka was taken aback by the brunette’s sudden aggression. She blinked multiple times as she looked at Ochaco’s glare. “What the hell, Uraraka?”

”Calm down, Uraraka! No need to be jealous! You’ll just have to by lucky next time! Now… C’mon, Jiro! Sit, sit, sit, sit, SIT! We don’t got all night!” Mina cheered as she shook Kyoka. “You don’t wanna upset the king, right?”

”If you upset him, you’ll be executed!” Momo declared with a dark expression on her face. “As per the Queen’s order!”

”Q-Queen?!” Izuku stumbled.

”Fuck… I regret everything and I wanna kill myself… Alright… let’s do this…” Kyoka stood up from the couch and walked over to Izuku.

Both of them stared at each other with a blush in their faces. They both gulped as they had an intense staring contest with each other.

”Look, Jiro… If you do plan on kicking all of our butts… Please spare me… I didn’t know what you’re number is and I didn’t want to do anything like this… I’ll give you ANYTHING to not kick my ass,” Izuku said, making a slight bow.

Kyoka rubbed the back of her head nervously. ”Don’t worry about it, Green… You were basically gaslit into doing this… Let’s just get this over with and forget it ever happened…” She took a deep breath. “Here it goes…” With that, she turned them plopped herself on Izuku’s lap.

The shade of red on Izuku’s face has gotten unhealthy with his hair starting to spark up. With the heat, the headache-inducing smell, and Kyoka on his lap while the others gawk at him is making him go crazy.

”BOOOOOO! I don’t see any action! Fuckin’ hell, Jiro! Your not even doin’ it, right! Lemme show ya how a real woman show their might!” Ochaco rose up from the couch walked towards Kyoka. “AH!” Kyoka yelled as Ochaco shoved her off Izuku as the brunette took a seat on Izuku. She then hug him tightly. “This is how ya do it, honey! Gotta get in there and hold them up close and personal!”

”What the hell, Uraraka?” Kyoka got back up and yelled.

Izuku looked up in despair. He was too embarrassed to see his friend’s reaction nor the drunk brunette holding him as if they were dating. “E-E-E-EHHHHHH! H-HAVE YOU GUYS LOST YOUR MIND?!”

Mina checked the two out and nodded. A wide grin was planted on her face. ”Oh! Nice one, Uraraka! He does look pretty comfy. Me next!”

Ochaco let go of Izuku just to let the pinkette go in and sit on the greenette’s lap, just to do the same thing. This time Mina was snuggling around Izuku’s neck. “See? You gotta… tug in there and give him some more love… Take notes, Yaomomo!” Despite being drunk, she was being careful not to scratch Izuku with her horns. “This is how the experts do it.”

The drunken Momo looked at Mina with envy. “Alright, Ashido! Out of the way! That King’s and that lap are mine now!” She declared, standing up from the couch then walking forward. “MOVE IT!” She butted Mina off of the greenette before sitting on his lap, crossing her legs and snuggling all over the greenette’s neck. “Ahhhh… so happy…”

Welp, this is where Izuku dies. He dies because his crush is sitting on his lap and getting up close and personal with him while she is drunk. He watched as Mina decided to sit next to him on his right then lay her head on his shoulders while Ochaco just laid her head on Momo, pretending she is on Izuku. Kyoka, on the other hand, was staring at the scene with annoyance in her eyes.

Denki saw the scene and immediately grew jealous. ”DUUUDE! You can’t hog all four of them at once!” He said with a comical irk mark appearing on his head.

”WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ME TO DO?! THEY CAME ON TO ME!” Izuku yelled back in embarrassment. A comical irk mark appeared on his head as well.  “I only dared Jiro to sit on my lap!”

”He gets King’s privileges! MWAH!” Momo kissed Izuku in the cheek. That was the last straw for the greenette as he is now unconscious. His soul began floating from his mouth.

”Sorry, Kaminari. But, like Yaomomo said, he’s the King! Plus… You’re too much of a virgin,” Mina said.

Denki was taken aback. ”W-Wha- THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSE TO MEAN?! Aren’t we all-“ He decided to stop talking and sigh instead, covering his eyes in the progress. “I’m not even gonna argue. I’m done… We’re obviously gonna be in trouble when our parents find out we were drinking liquor!”

Mina made a growl with a pout. ”Why did they give us liquor?! We’re 15! I swore I told them to give me normal drinks!”

“It’s not fuckin’ alcohol! If it was, I would be fuckin’ drunk right now! It’s gotta be this goddamn smelly-ass club! It smells like… strawberries doing a sexy pole dance in here!” Katsuki babbled, waving his hand around. “I’ve been drinking this shit and I don’t feel the effects! It would’ve kicked in!”

”Ara ara? What do we have here?”

Everyone turned to face the newcomer to the second floor. “M-Midnight-sensei?!” Denki stuttered.

Instead of wearing her normal dominatrix costume, she was wearing her casual clothing, which consisted of a sleeveless, plain white shirt. black pants, and black boots. Her clothing was not shy in showing her womanly features, making Denki look away.

Midnight looked at the students, especially Izuku as she licked her lips. ”Going to a dance club during the night? How scandalous. Aizawa-sensei would definitely expel you all if he catches wind you were here.”

”W-W-What? N-No! He can’t do that. We came here to cheer Izuku up!” Mina said.

Midnight giggled. “Well… I think you’re doing a good job! Actually… you’re doing an amazing job! Letting all that pent up anger and out and-“

”We don’t need the details!” Kyoka cut off Midnight. “Look, we’re sorry if we’re causing a disturbance or if we shouldn’t be here! The big problem at hand is that these guys are drunk! The club served us liquor!”

”Liquor?” Midnight was confused. “They don’t serve liquor.”

”What…?”

”Huh?”

Kyoka and Denki said, respectively.

”Club Escapades doesn’t serve liquor. They don’t because they’re one of the few clubs that allow minors. There were some incidents here and there at the old location back in Port Island where drunk drivers plagued the streets, so they ultimately banned liquor and turned this club into a high-schooler joint.”

”Fuckin’ knew it!” Katsuki yelled.

Kyoka then looked at the drunk girls in confusion. “So… If there’s no liquor, how did they get drunk then? Come to think of it, Green, Kaminari, and I aren’t drunk.”

”Do you see the pink smoke all around you?” Midnight asked. “It’s barely visible, but you can at least see it.”

Denki, Katsuki, and Kyoka looked around and realized the near invisible pink smoke. “Holy crap… you’re right! Is that what’s causing them to be drunk?”

”Correct! There’s been this party guy that’s been parading clubs after clubs by letting loose some kind of aura from his Quirk. We found out that whoever smells it loosens their mental strain, causing them to feel flustered and drunk,” Midnight explained. “I found the guy and kicked him out, so the police could deal with him. BUT, there’s a but in there. The club manager does want to give everyone the party atmosphere they desire, so he used perfume with a hint of pheromones in it and put it in the ventilation systems during the night. Those two combinations creates a placebo effect and causes these drunks next to you.”

”No wonder…” Kyoka mumbled.

”SEE?! I fuckin’ knew it! You bitches didn’t wanna listen to me! My stupid-ass old hag likes leavin’ alcohol around and accidentally drunk it. This juice doesn’t taste like it! It had to be from the atmosphere or some shit… Like… I’m hot… sweaty… and I’m getting a headache smelling this shitty perfume!” Katsuki yelled as he started to sober up.

”So… they got drunk off the air? That’s funny, to be honest…” Denki chuckled, placing his arms on his hips. “Now… that doesn’t change the fact that we all sorta smell like alcohol and our parents are gonna flip out… Not to mention…” He looked as the drunk girls them at the sleeping Eijiro. “They’re drunk…”

“True… Follow me… I’ll ask some guys to carry the drunk girls and the sleeping guys… Wait… before I do…” Midnight pulled out her phone. “Lemme take a picture!”

“What are we gonna do?”

”I’m gonna call each of your parents and tell them a villain broke into the place you went to and caused everyone to get drunk with their Quirks,” Midnight explained. “Club Escapades lets in minors and that guy forced many people in the club around the same age as you all to get drunk, so I don’t think you all should get in trouble for a misunderstanding.”

Denki sighed. “Alright… Thanks, Midnight-sensei… So… uhhh… We can all agree on one thing… Whatever happened in the club?”

”Stays in the club…” Kyoka finished.

”True! It looks like you all had fun!” Midnight snickered before starting the operation.

TO BE CONTINUED

Notes:

Fact of the day by Inko: She has high alcohol tolerance, so she can’t get drunk as easily. On the other hand, Mitsuki is a lightweight drinker, so she gets drunk easily.

Another fact of the day by Izuku: His favorite song is Polaris by Blue Encount. (Opening 1 of Season 4 in MHA btw). He thinks the lyrics of the song resonate with him and his friends.

I chose that song because we all know who appears in that time. Plus, looking at the lyrics… you could say they sorta give some symbolism to the Izuku and his friends. :)

This chapter was pretty difficult. I was trying to find a plot for this one while writing the aftermath of Izuku’s panic attack. Hisashi has finally been mentioned btw. Ohohoho.

But, when I landed on the King’s Game idea… I couldn’t stop typing! This shit was hilarious to write. From drunk Momo to the funny harem bit… This was inspired by Persona 4, the origin of the whole drunk student scene. Club Escapades was introduced in Persona 3, in which the characters of Persona 4 went to that club when they were on a school trip.

I was originally gonna use the King’s Game idea for the slice of life part of the fic, but I wanted this to be canon to the main story SO BAD! I’ve been waiting for a time to make this and here it is! Oh boy! I can’t wait to write the aftermath scene when they all see each other at school!

Izumomo moment. A big one. Sucks Izuku couldn’t say what he needed to say. Don’t worry. Momo’ll kick his ass if he ever talks shit about himself again.

We’ll finally return to canon in Chapter 37. Don’t worry. Sorry if the pacing’s been slow. While I kept diverging from canon for a bit, I’ve been adding important story elements over here. Even this silly ass chapter has some relevance. Oh boy… And I’m loving everyone’s predictions. It’s been motivating me to keep writing to show you all what I’m planning.

Btw, I altered the last scene of Chapter 34 to shorten it and remove the All Might bit. I feel like it was kinda unnecessary. Overall, I wanted to keep the manic episode because it’ll show Izuku regressing back to his old self, if you’ve been seeing a pattern in him.

Anyway, sayonara.
