Goodbye for now
Well, there you have it.
After a season full of twists and turns, it ends in the second half of the final match day with Arsenal just missing out on the title, despite securing a narrow 2-1 victory over Everton.
Manchester City end their campaign by winning an unprecedented fourth successive EPL title with their 3-1 win over West Ham at the Etihad.
Arsenal fans will be bitterly disappointed after being so perilously close, but they should feel encouraged with what they have seen this season, and the manner in which their side have carried themselves.
This all bodes well for the next season as Arsenal will look to build on the progress made this year.
We hope you enjoyed our coverage of today’s encounter, and till the next time, this is Rohan Sharma signing off on behalf of Al Jazeera.

‘We want much more than that, and we are going to get it’
Arsenal boss Arteta also shared his views with the Emirates faithful: “Obviously all this is happening because you started believing [in us]. You started to be patient [with us]. You began to understand what we are trying to do.
“All the credit goes to the players and staff. What you did is unbelievable.
“I think now it is time to have a break to think and reflect. [To the fans] keep pushing and inspiring this team. Don’t be satisfied as we want much more than that, and we are going to get it.”

‘We want to win everything’
Odegaard addresses the Emirates Stadium with his post-season thoughts: “Look, I think we are all a little disappointed at the moment. We have fought for so long for the big dream [of winning the title].
“We are so close but I am so proud of the boys and the fans. I am so proud of the progress we are making. I think you all believe in us. I can’t wait to come back after the break and make you guys more happy.
“We are in a good way. We are closer than last year. Now we use the break to come back stronger and even hungrier. We want to win everything.
“I can’t thank you enough for everything you do for us and the support we have. [When we play] away we feel like we are playing at home, and at home it is just a different level. Thank you to you all.”

‘It is sometimes not fair in football’
Kai Havertz provides his post-match thoughts: “What can I say. I feel sorry for all the Arsenal fans. We gave our best but it wasn’t enough.
“Maybe in two or three months it was a good fight, but right now I feel like we deserve more. It wasn’t enough in the end, but we will try again next year.
“We showed great character. They didn’t make it easy for us. Every throw-in and ball they took [their] time. In my opinion it is sometimes not fair in football, but we have to accept it. Football is hard but hopefully we can go again next year.
“Right now I can’t even think about ‘next season’. It’s so frustrating. When you see them all here [the fans] it is tough. Next year we will be a better team, that is all I can say.”
