Help

Hello everyone, I'm traveling to Munich on business trip for four days from 25th May Saturday to 28th May Tuesday. And I'll be staying in a hotel which is within the premises of the International airport (I wanted to stay in city centre but this is booked by my company).

I'm planning to explore the city for the duration of my stay, All of my trips will start from the airport and end at the airport hotel. I would be very grateful if you could guide me in getting through the city centre and tourist spots.

  1. I'll be spending Sunday in international Congress centre, Messe Munich, Which zone does this fall under? Which tickets should I buy if I'm planning to travel from airport?

  2. Are there any apps I can use to buy an advanced ticket? Can I buy an advanced ticket on the machine?

  3. I am planning to spend the remaining days exploring the city, BMW museum is on my list and could you please suggest the best museums/places to visit.

  4. Should I buy museum tickets in advance or are they generally available at the venue?

Thank you.

Here's the plan with all the train stations and their respective zone. If a station has two zones, both are valid, so you can choose which one is better for you.

Here's the list with the ticket options depending on your needed zones. Airport is zone 5, Messe and most other touristy things are zone M. So you want the Daily ticket, M-5 for 15,50€.

They can be bought at the machines at the stations (take your time, they're confusing to navigate). Check if they need to be validated (if they fit into the small blue validation machines, they probably need to be validated) but day tickets are usually validated for the current day.

For touristy things to do, check the wiki and pinned post, tickets are generally available at the venue.
