Apart from their married life, Dingdong Dantes will always enjoy working with his wife Marian Rivera and he always looks forward to sharing the spotlight with her in future projects.

Dantes and Rivera, whose Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry “Rewind” continues to captivate viewers, said seeing the public being touched by the story of their characters is a huge milestone for them already.

“Napakahalaga ng recognition. Akala namin hindi na kami makakapagsama bilang love team pero nabigyan pa kami ng isang pagkakataon. And we’re very grateful na nabigyan kami ng opportunity to tell this very beautiful story,” Dantes told reporters on the sidelines of the Box Office Entertainment Awards.

(Being recognized is very important. We thought we wouldn’t be able to work together again as a love team, but we were given another chance to do so. And we’re very grateful that we’re blessed with the opportunity to tell this very beautiful story.)

The MMFF film is now the highest-grossing Philippine film, surpassing the 2019 movie “Hello, Love, Goodbye” which stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards. But for Dantes, the feedback of the public matters “more than the figures.”

“More than the figures, ‘yung feedback ng tao at ang nakukuha naming mensahe, hanggang ngayon, ang mga nakakapanood at na-touch daw sila. Nabago ang buhay namin sa pelikulang ito,” he said.

(More than the figures, the feedback of people, and the message they got from the film matters. Until now, seeing the people who watched our film and were touched by it remin us how much it changed our lives.)

For her part, Rivera said seeing the “crying photos” of the moviegoers touched her the most. “Nakakatuwa na pinapakita nila sa’min ang picture na umiiyak sila habang pinapanood ang pelikula so ito ang pinakapriceless para sa’min. Nakakatuwa na gumawa kami ng pelikula na nakakaantig sa puso ng mga manonood.”

The actor said he “really loves” working with Rivera, stressing that he missed her in a professional setting “after so many years.”

“Sobrang love kong katrabaho ang aking Misis. Namiss ko siya after so many years and siyempre, looking forward sa susunod na pagkakataon na makasama ko siya. Whether sa telebisyon man or sa pelikula or kahit ano pa,” he said.

On new film with Charo Santos

Dantes remained mum on the details of his upcoming film with former ABS-CBN CEO Charo Santos-Concio, although he shared that it’s “in the works.”

“Ginagawa na [siya]. I’m very, very excited. Isang karangalan ang makatrabaho ang isang Charo Santos (It’s currently in production. I’m very, very excited. It’s an honor to work with Charo Santos),” he said.
