I’m completely in love with my best friend and don’t know if he’ll ever feel the same way

I made a throwaway just in case

I’m 18, my best friends a is few months younger than me. We met when we were 12 but became friends about 3 years ago.

It had just started that we were in the same friend group, but in the past year or so we’ve been hanging out just the two of us a lot, to the point where I would consider him my best friend.

I’m bisexual and have always been very open about my attraction to men. He is straight.

I had a crush on him from a distance when we were 14 but never acted on it, when we became friends it went away (or I at least thought it did.) but in recent times it’s just that we literally spend all our time together, hanging out or on FaceTime, I don’t go a day without speaking with him.

He doesn’t feel the same way, I’m sure he doesn’t, but we’re so comfortable around eachother we’ve made jokes about people thinking we’re dating or acting like we’re dating, it makes my heart flip a bit every time, until I remember he doesn’t like men.

There isn’t really a big climax to this, I just wanted to finally vocalise my thoughts and feelings.

move on. you're romantically drawn to someone that can never reciprocate that feeling.
